Third Person POV

"So, you didn't sleep with her?" Rebekah asked Jaxon for the twentieth time. After he snapped Katherine's neck, he let Rebekah back into his mind, and she materialized in his room, immediately starting to look around.

Jaxon didn't know what she was searching for, but when she saw Katherine lying in bed with her neck broken and a shirt draped over her bare chest, while Jaxon himself was seated in his chair reading the second book of Twilight, she started asking questions.

Though her main concern was whether Jaxon had been intimate with Katherine. "Nope," Jaxon replied nonchalantly, turning the page of his book.

A smile touched Rebekah's lips, and a sense of pride filled her heart. She didn't need Jaxon to say it; she knew she was the reason he hadn't slept with Katherine.

Suddenly, Katherine sat up with a loud gasp, drawing the attention of both blondes. "You snapped my neck," Katherine said in disbelief, her gaze fixed on Jaxon, who closed his book and regarded her emotionlessly.

"Well, you did attempt to take control of my body," Jaxon replied nonchalantly as he rose to his full height, looking down at her. "That will never happen again. I agreed to participate in your game, but it does not include surrendering myself to you, understood?" Jaxon's authoritative tone sent a shiver down both Rebekah's and Katherine's spines.

Katherine gave a hesitant nod before Jaxon spoke again. "Another thing, you will leave my sister alone. Whatever you want her to do, I will do it instead. You've already done enough to her," he said, his gaze fixed on her.

His eyes reminded Katherine so much of Klaus that she almost believed he was Klaus. "Okay," she said slowly, pulling on the shirt that lay on her chest before standing up.

"I can see why your soul is connected to Rebekah's; you fit in with the family," were her final words before she dashed away.

Jaxon exhaled and turned to Rebekah, who was looking at him with a blend of admiration, joy, and pride. "What?" he inquired, and Rebekah replied, "She's right, you really do fit in with my family."

"Is that a good thing or a bad thing?" Jaxon questioned, to which Rebekah shrugged and said, "It depends on who you ask, beloved."

Jaxon pursed his lips and then nodded in acknowledgment.

Jaxon ran a hand through his hair as he walked downstairs where his mom and sister were. "Guess what Jaxon, mom took off work, finally" Caroline said in a sarcastic tone with jazz hands.

"Caroline" Jaxon warned lowly while Liz brushed it off saying "The Historical Society Volunteer Picnic is today. You two are the ones who signed me up."

Jaxon shrugged while Caroline said "I know. I just assumed you'd bale." Liz sighed and responded "No. I'm gonna spend the whole day with my children."

Jaxon smiled though it was wiped clean off his face when Caroline spoke, "You're gonna pretend to be a mother?"

"Caroline" Jaxon shouted with wide eyes as he smacked her shoulder while Caroline gave him an innocent look. "I'll bring my gun if it gets rough. Come on, give me one day. I've been buried in work mode, I've barely seen you" Liz said to Caroline.
