Episode 4: Shy Girl

-Last time we saw Uni save Tylah from a group of goons that abducted her as she was walking home from school. Uni proved that he was capable of protecting Tylah as he walked her home the rest of the way and then invited her for movies and snacks at his place with Jahlia and Zelle until they all fell asleep having a good time. The next morning, they wake up refreshed and ready to start their day as they all get dressed and prepare. When they walked out the door they noticed an unfamiliar site...a moving truck that was bringing a young girl around their age into a group home-
Zelle: "What's with the truck?"
Jahlia: -walks up next to her- "I'm not sure but who is that?"
-The young girl gets out of the truck holding her deceased mother's necklace looking depressed as she stands on the sidewalk-
Tylah: -smiling and looking over at the young girl- "Oh that's Tessa. She's supposed to be starting school with us as a late senior. I'm not sure why she's at the group home with a moving truck"
Uni: "Should we go talk to her? She might not have any friends since she's new here"
Jahlia: -smiles- "I think that would be a great start"
Zelle: "Well what are we waiting for?" -she periodically looks at everyone and then starts walking toward the young girl and they all follow sue-
-they walk across the street to the young girl and she instantly turns around noticing the group of people walking towards her. Although she isn't scared or nervous, she has a caution put up just in case something happens-
Tylah: -smiles big as they all walk over together- "HELLLLOOOOOO" -she waves-
-the young girl smiles small but waves back shyly-
Jahlia: -smiles also- "Hey I'm Jahlia. This is my best friend Tylah, my brother Uni, and his best friend Zelle" -she points in correspondence as she speaks- "We noticed the truck and were curious as to what was going on. You're just moving in?"
Tessa: "Yes I am. I'm starting school today but I'm not sure where I'm even supposed to go to be honest"
Uni: "It's okay you can walk to school with us we were just heading there. If you don't know anyone here you can also hang out with us today for lunch" -he smiles at her-
Tessa: "You sure? I don't want to impose or anything-"
Zelle: -shakes her head and smiles- "Nonsense you're more than welcome to hang with us at any time. Think of us as your new friends"
Tessa: -smiles- "Thank you for being so nice. I think some new friends would be a good start since I don't know anyone in the city"
Tylah: "Great then let's gooooooo" -she smiles and grabs Tessa's hand willingly and starts walking with her as the rest of the group is in tail-
-on the way, Tessa explained a little about why she moved into the group home and to a new city. Being that she lost her family and had been going from place to place it seemed more like a routine instead of a new way of living but the group assured her that their friendship was important to them and she'd love it in Veloria as long as she stayed safe and had fun-
-Veloria is a dangerous city of success filled with happiness as well as hatred. As you all noticed Tylah got into some trouble even though she kept a positive mind, bad things always happen to good people. This city is known for making people rich in spirit but it does have its downsides. Good thing our soon-to-be heroes are strong-willed and capable of accomplishment based on their past-
-Throughout the day, Tessa was getting familiar with the school, learning her classes, and having help from her teachers and new friends. Coming into a new school, city, and environment is scary for most people but luckily for Tessa, she had nice, kind people to help her along the way. Tessa met up with Uni, Jahlia, Tylah, and Zelle during lunch and they all sat down next to each other conversing-
Jahlia: -smiles and looks at Tessa- "So how's your day going so far?"
Tessa: "It's going well. With everyone including you all being so nice and helpful this day has been pretty great" -she smiles and starts eating as do the others-
Tylah: -smiles big and puts a thumbs up- "Ouuuu that's awesomeeee"
Tessa: "Yeah and the classes are so big here. I've been from city to city ever since I lost my family and I have never seen a school as big as this one"
Zelle: "Yeah Veloria is filled with lots of people"
Uni: "But as long as you are having a good day then we did our job"
-they smile and continue to eat for a while-
Zelle: -starts to get up and cleans her area- "Well I have to get to study hall for my test next week. You guys take care and wish me luck" -she tosses her plate and other trash then stops to hug Uni and wave bye to the rest- "Later Uni, bye guys" -she smiles and walks off-
Jahlia: -finishes her food- "You guys wanna hang out after school today?" -she looks at the rest of them-
Tylah: -smiles- "Sureeee that would be awesomeee"
Uni: "Uhh yea I don't have anything planned today" -they all look at Tessa-
Jahlia: "What about you Tessa? Wanna join us?"
Tessa: -smiles in response to her question- "Yeah I would love to"
Jahlia: -smiles back- "Ok cool so we are going to meet up outside the entrance of school when the day is over. Just stand outside and we'll come meet you there"
Tessa: "Sure thing" -she smiles and continues eating as she eats pretty slowly-
-everyone else gets up, tosses their plates, and leaves for their next classes. The school day passes by pretty quickly and at the end of it, Tessa follows Jahlia's instructions and goes outside to the entrance of the school waiting for them. A few minutes later Tessa is approached by Uni, Jahlia, and Tylah and they start walking to a place called "VV's" after school. It's a popular bar that will sell to Jahlia since she knows the right people and anybody she vouches for. It also has beanbag chairs for customers who want extreme comfort. Jahlia informs her about the hangout and Tessa continues to tag along. They walk inside and a few customers are sitting including one at the bar. Jahlia walks in with everyone and talks to the main girl working behind the bar quietly as the guy next to her notices how beautiful she is and is instantly intrigued to talk to her. The girls bring 3 drinks and Jhalia gives them to Tessa, Uni, and Tylah-
Jahlia: "Here you go guys. Just grab a seat and I'll walk over in a bit when she brings mine out" -she smiles and they all walk over to some beanbag chairs. As they go to sit down, Uni instantly looks over at the guy next to Jahlia as he senses some sort of heavy presence from him but thinks nothing of it. She waits for her drink when the guy next to her starts talking to her-
Guy: -looks at Jahlia and smiles- "You know you have extremely good hair for someone so young"
Jahlia: -looks at the man and blushes a bit as she smiles and runs her fingers through her hair- "Thank you very much and you have a very unique sense of style" -she smiles-
Guy: -starts smiling bigger as he didn't expect that response-
Jahlia: "What makes you think I'm not older than you" -she smiles looking at him directly-
Guy: "Well seeing as how you were able to get drinks I'll assume you are" -he puts his hand on his chin smiling still- "I'm 17 how about you?"
Jahlia: "I'm 19 kid" -the girl behind the bar brings Jahlia her drink and she takes the glass, has a sip, and stands there looking at him- "Your name kind sir?"
Desmond: "I'm Desmond" -he offers his hand as a nice gesture-
Jahlia: -smiling still, she offers her hand to his as he holds it there for a few seconds- "I'm Jahlia"
Desmond: -takes her hand and kisses her knuckles as he looks back up at her and smiles- "The pleasure's all mine Jahlia"
Jahlia: -smiles and blushes a bit more-
-Uni has been paying attention to them since they walked in because of what he sensed from Desmond and after he sees Desmond kiss her hand he gets up and walks over to them interrupting everything by pulling Jahlia's hand away from him. The instant they meet tension builds up-
Uni: "Before you start putting your lips on my sister's skin I'll need to know your name first"
-they both look at Uni and see the seriousness of his expression-
Jahlia: "Uni this is Desmond. Desmond this is my little brother Uni"
Demond: -looks at Uni and starts to wonder why he is getting in the way of them. He gradually feels the tension growing and grows the same attitude but puts on a smirky face to not cause any issues for the first time despite his hot-headedness- "It's nice to meet you Uni. I was just admiring Jahlia's beautiful hair"
Uni: -he is aware that Jahlia is older and stronger than him but he can't help this feeling in his gut that something is up with Desmond- "Yeah she's always getting complimented on her flawlessness.....but sorry to mention that if her brother doesn't approve then you'll have a very hard time getting to her" -he smiles tauntingly-
Desmond: -smiles- "Is that so? I was never the type to run off from a challenge. Seeing as how you interrupted us though, I'll say you won this battle....but the war has just begun" -his smile gets bigger and the presence Uni feels gets stronger-
Uni: -his face gets serious as he looks at Desmond but talks to Jahlia- "Let's go Jahlia our friends are waiting.....Stay away from my sister" -Uni and Jahlia walk away and go back to sitting with Tylah and Tessa-
Desmond: -looks at them as they walk away, smiles evilly when he turns back, puts money on the table for his drink, and walks out-
-Uni and Jahlia sit down on their bean bags-
Tylah: -smiles and nudges Jahlia- "You were getting flirty I see youuuuu"
Jahlia: -smiles and laughs then sips her drink- "He probably would've gotten my number if Uni wouldn't have stepped in"
Tylah: "Party pooper" -she laughs-
Uni: "You can say what you want but he gave me the worst feeling when we first past him up. It was the heaviest pressure I've ever felt like I got hit by a train or something. Whatever he is he isn't human and he's got tons of bad aura"
Jahlia: -smirks- "Oh Uni calm down. Remember I'm not helpless. I was the one who taught you how to fight didn't I?"
Uni: "Yeah but your still my sister"
Jahlia: "Well thanks little brother but I can take care of myself just like you"
Uni: "If that's the case why am I the only one who felt his aura then..."
-everyone gets silent and looks at Jahlia for a few seconds until she answers-
Jahlia: -takes a sip of her drink- "Hmm I'm not sure...you have a point there but still take it easy he's gone now so you don't have to worry"
-Uni realized she was right and they continued to have a good time for another hour or 2 before leaving. They all walked Tessa home and then went to their own houses. About a week goes by and everything goes by fine. Tessa gets more comfortable at school and in the city, while the whole friend group hangs out and just has fun. One day while they are off from school, Uni and Jahlia are home alone watching movies as Uni sleeps when the doorbell rings. Jahlia stands up wondering who is there as she gets to the door. When she opens it she sees Desmond looking at her smiling and holding a bouquet of pink and black roses. Instantly she smiled then turned her head to look at Uni to make sure he was still sleeping then walked outside to talk to him-
Jahlia: -smiles- "Hey Desmond what are you doing here so late? -she gets a closer look at the flowers- "Who are these for?"
Desmond: -smiles and hands her the flowers- "These are for you. We didn't get to finish our conversation last week so I wanted to come by and talk"
Jahlia: -takes the flowers and sniffs them by habit and smiles bigger- "Awwww this is so sweet Desmond thank you"
Desmond: "Listen I wanted to know if you would be interested in going out with me?"
Jahlia: -smiles and blushes- "Oh really?"
Desmond: "Let's not pretend I didn't have you smiling and blushing before this. You're beautiful and I would love to opportunity to take your hand and bring you anywhere you want......so how about it?"
Uni: -as Jahlia is about to answer Uni opens the door and steps outside then looks at him- "How about no" -he folds his arms with a serious look but more menacing than before-
Desmond: -his smile is replaced with a cold calculating look as he stares at Uni-
Jahlia: -grabs Uni's arm and looks at him- "Uni please just go back inside"
Desmond: "Yes this isn't any of your business"
Jahlia: -looks at Desmond- "Hey I can handle this"
Uni: -gets in Desmond's face unphased by Jahlia's grip- "I'll make it my business since you're the one chasing my sister. I told you to stay away from her now get lost"
Jahlia: -tries to pull Uni back but he doesn't budge at all and she ends up losing her grip on his arm-
Desmond: -looks back at Uni in his eyes- "And if I don't?"
Uni: -his fists harden tightly- "Wanna find out?"
Jahlia: -seeing how serious Uni is she forcefully takes Desmond away to the street so the altercation can be avoided and she gives him the flowers back- "You know I sorta did like you at first but messing with my brother is another thing. I've never seen him that angry before and the fact you're that willing to start an altercation with him just to ask me out is insane so please just go"
Desmond: -his expression doesn't change as he gets more annoyed by her words but he does not say anything and just walks away-
-Jahlia and Uni go back inside. Uni tries apologizing but Jahlia doesn't respond as she quickly goes to bed in her room. The next day Uni and the rest are in school at lunch hanging out and eating while Uni still feels bad about upsetting Jahlia yesterday. At the end of the school day, as everyone walks out the entrance, Desmond can be seen approaching them looking angry. Just as soon as they make it down the steps they are just staring at him in wonder trying to figure out how he managed to figure out why is he here-
Jahlia: -walks up in front of everyone to him- "Desmond what are you doing here?"
Desmond: -completely ignores her and walks straight up to Uni- "This issue is getting solved today!"
Uni: -gets serious as he looks at him- "What are you talking about?"
Desmond: -walks closer- "You think you can interfere with me and Jahlia and get away with it?!"
Uni: "I'm not afraid of you Desmond" -he looks into his eyes as his pupils turn to little fireballs- "I know you're hiding something you freak. Maybe Jahlia doesn't see it but I do and her safety is my biggest concern"
Desmond: -walks closer to him as his expression goes dark like he's about to lash out but a familiar voice calls out to Desmond-
Zelle: "Hey Desmond!!!"
Desmond: -stops and looks up to see a girl he hasn't spoken to before-
Zelle: -she walks up to Desmond on the side of Uni and looks up at him in his eyes- "Idk what your problem is with Uni but I advise you to think about your next action wisely if you don't want your face smashed on the concrete" -her expression deadly as she walks up-
-Desmond glares back at Uni one last time before he leaves. Uni thanks Zelle and walks off with his friends and sisters to go home and hang out how they usually do but what was with Desmond? Who knows what could've happened if he and Uni started fighting? All we know is that Jahlia is glad Zelle stepped in and stopped them because she wanted to but then again she was intrigued to see Uni fight someone other than herself. Well one thing's for certain, it's that Desmond won't be around for a while at least-
