Chapter 4: Marrying a Ghost

Sebek uses his magic and it strikes at the ghosts. They end up disappearing.

Sebek says with confidence, "Heh. How do you like THAT?"

But Ace says, "Are you seriously stoppin' to gloat?! The next batch of ghosts is already rising up!"

"There's no end to them. Everyone, fall back and retreat!" Crowley says.

Everyone soon runs away down the hall.

In no time, everyone on campus have evacuated to the sports field. And soon, practically the entire student body and staff are at the sports field after the ghosts chased them out.

"I don't believe those ghosts will follow us this far out," Crowley says.

"You're right. It's like they're only trying to get us out of the building," Briar says.

Heavily breathing, Ace says, "My legs are killin' me..."

Soon, Riddle notices the group, "Ah, Ace and Deuce. Have you been forced to flee to the sports field as well?"

"Greetings to you as well, Briar and her friends. Nice to see you're safe and sound," Azul says.

"Riddle. Azul. Kalim," Briar says.

"What happened?" Sereia asks.

Kalim explains, "We were in the auditorium when some ghosts came out of nowhere and chased us out. We were in the middle of studying together, too!"

"What you mean is, YOU were getting help from US, Kalim," Azul points out.

"He was so close to figuring out that problem too..." Riddle says.

And Vil says, "We were in a classroom when a bunch of unfamiliar specters told us it was a bridal dressing chamber and locked us out."

"More's the pity," Rook says, "I would've enjoyed being able to study fashion under Vil's tutelage for longer."

"We drove them off several times, but they just kept coming," Epel says.

Then Cater says, "Yeah, they kicked me out of the lab. They were all like, 'Stay out of the family lounge!'"

"You think that's bad? I was just walking down the hall, minding my own business, when these ghosts got all up in my face," Leona says.

"Looks like this is everyone who got booted from the main building," Grim says.

"Yes. And it appears they're going to use the building for the princess' wedding," Tanzanite says.

"Wedding?" Ace questions.

"It sounds like the whole building's been seized by those white-uniformed ghosts," Deuce says.

"What in the world's goin' on, Headmage?!" Ace asks.

Then Ortho steps in, "Allow me to explain. It all started last night, with my brother..."

10 minutes later...

"Now I see. Idia happens to be the perfect prince the Ghost Bride's been searching for. That's the general idea, yes?" Riddle questions.

"Yes," Briar and Sereia say with a nod.

"And because of that, the princess along with the ghosts that could be her family, friends, and her servants and all that took over the main campus to use it for a wedding hall," Jasper says.

Everyone remains silent to hear the details, but in a matter of seconds, everyone begins laughing, "AAAH HA HA HA HA HA!"

"Idia, the perfect prince? BWAH HA HA! You're kidding, right?" Ace says, laughing.

And Cater says, "Bridey sure knows how to pick 'em!"

"Of all the times for Idia to choose to emerge from his cave. Hilariou—I mean, how unfortunate for him," Azul says.

Briar crosses her arms, "It's not funny, guys!"

And Crowley says, "This is no laughing matter! I can only assume none of you know what happens when you're the Ghost Bride's groom."

"What's the matter, Headmage? That's quite the scowl you got there," Deuce questions.

"And why does it sound so worrisome?" Sereia asks, worried.

Crowley then says, "To marry a ghost means that you bind yourself to someone who's already dead. Hence, if Idia marries her... His soul will leave his body, and he will depart for the afterlife!"

Everyone exclaims in shock, "WHAT?!"

Crowley continues, "I foolishly assumed that the bride's standards were so unrealistic she'd never find anyone, so I wrote the whole thing off as a non-issue."

Hearing this, Ortho comes to realize in shock and distress, "My... My brother's gonna turn into a ghost?!"
