Ryan....

"They want to listen your side now. Lizz has already given her statement", Tristan informed me to which I nodded back. "Come downstairs. We are waiting for you there."

"I'm coming....", I said as he left the room.

I looked at Lizz who was sleeping peacefully in our room. It's been two weeks since she got discharged by the hospital after being monitored for straight one week. The initial two days were crucial and painful to watch her lying on that hospital bed. The external injuries were severe so the dosage of the medicines were high. She was barely in her consciousness for the other three days. I didn't leave her side for a second since I have found her.

I'm scared of hurting her again. I'm scared of losing her again.

God has given me one more chance to rectify my mistakes and I'm doing it at any cost.

Once she started recovering, the doctors suggested us to take her home after one week as it would be better for her to recover in her homely environment. The officers took Lizz's statement twice after she got back into her senses. I was amazed to look at her as she still chose to speak about everything. My body trembled while I listened to her as my nerves fumed in immense anger and rage hearing out at the pain she has gone through.

How can someone with such a pure heart have to face this?

How can someone be so cruel on the same page?

It is hard to see people doing cruelty in the name of hatred and evilness. I curse myself because my Lizz has to face all these and I'm the sole reason.

How can I fail to protect her?

After the check up of all her reports which was normal, we took her back to our mansion. Mr. Knight wanted her to be in the Knight Mansion and I couldn't protest. But Lizz insisted on taking her to our home to which they agreed. And I couldn't be more happy.

"Lizz, I'm coming within a few minutes, okay?", I said while I kissed her on the forehead as she was still in her sleep.
I turned around as I heard Sharon slightly knocking on the door, "Bro, you go. And I will be with her", she assured me as I nodded back, not before watching my Lizz again and leaving the room.

I went downstairs as I watched my friends standing there with the officers. I also noticed our Moms standing there with tears in her eyes.

"Be strong, my son", Lizz's Mom came to me as she patted my back.

I turned to the officers as they said, "Mr. Woods, we wanted you to sign on these official papers. As you said, it states that you are closing this case once and for all", the officer informed me and handed me the documents.

"Sure", I replied back as I flipped back the pages of the documents looking it for the last time. I took the pen from the table and signed on the papers.

"Thank you for your co-operation, Mr. Woods. We hope Mrs. Woods get well soon. She is definitely a strong woman", one of the officers said to which I smiled back softly.

"She definitely is, officer. I can't be more thankful to each one of you. You all have helped us saving our lives and also provided us with the personal investigation team", I said thanking them.

"Mr. Woods, your friends has cooperated so well with our team. And it's our duty to save innocent people from the devils. We are always there for your service. Take care", the officers said as I asked Tristan to drop them off to the gate.

"Thank you, Ryan. Thank you so much for saving my daughter", I heard Mrs. Knight as she sobbed heavily when my Mom went to her, giving her a warm hug.

"Your daughter is very precious to me. I have always loved her but I failed to protect her. Please forgive me", I apologized to her as I joined my hands in front of her which she held instantly.
