3 weeks later...
I woke up next to Katie and she pecked me on the lips.
Katie: ready for the semis?
I nodded and smiled before jumping out of bed and putting my tracksuit on.
We both headed to the bus and sat at the back together. I lay my head on her chest and she played with my hair and two extras came and joined us.
Leah: hey lovers ready for the match?
Y/n: mhm.
Katie: someone's a bit tired huh?
I smiled up at her and snuggled closer and Beth gagged
Beth: you two are sickeningly in love.
We chuckled and sat down for the drive to the emirates.
When we arrived we walked of the bus and towards the changing rooms. I signed a few fans shirts and stuff while I walked past them and sat down at my cubby and started to get my kit on.
I got my kit on and we had our team talks and lined up. I was starting at cm today since we have a few midfielders out because of injury.
I said a little prayer and the game was soon enough under-weigh. Chelsea started strong scoring in the 23rd minute and we soon enough equalised in the 47th minute thanks to Alessia's header and my ball.
In the 83rd minute Chelsea took the lead because of Sam kerrs strike and I equalised the game in the 87th.
The game went to extra time and it eventually went to penalties.
After 5 pens the score was even at 4/5 for both teams I decided to step up next.
If I score we continue and if I miss we are out of the champions League.
I placed the ball down and took 4 steps back and two to the left.
I ran up and hit the ball towards the top left corner.
Everything felt like to was going in slow motion and I heard one noise.
Ding....
The ball smashed the cross bar and bounced in the air and out of play. The Chelsea fans erupted and I fell to my knees.
I felt like my soul had just left my body.
I lay face down on the grass.
I felt someone touch my shoulder and I just lay their unable to feel any emotion.
I smelt the sent of Katie pull me into her chest and I just sat there stiff while she held me.
I wanted to cry. I felt like I was gonna cry. But nothing came out. I was pale. Shocked. Disappointed and hurt. I was just a shell of my soul that has been taken away.
I just sat still looking at one spot on the grass.
Katie; it's okay darling I've got you. It's just not our day we will beat them next time.
I didn't say anything.
After a while the others went to get changed and had showers but I stayed exactly where I was originally not moving a muscle. Hoping it's all just a dream and I will wake up soon...
I saw Leah walk over to me with a sympathetic smile.
Leah: it's not your fault.
All my emotions suddenly hit me at once.
I start to cry in Leah's arms. I must have been sobbing for a while. She was talking comfort into my ears as she held me close.
Y/n: I let everyone down... I mumble in a cracking voice
Leah: you didn't let anyone down y/n. Think about it. We wouldn't have
even had to opportunity to take the penalties if it wasn't for you. You helped us get there and yeah you missed but earlier on so did Steph. Is it her fault we lost?
Y/n: no,
Leah: well then it's not yours either. It just wasn't our day. And we have a match next Tuesday away in Leicester and you're gonna prove a point. Not for anyone , but for yourself okay?
