Summary: Lena goes to work at L-Corp, expecting to come home to Kara as usual but she's hit with a nasty surprise. (Pure drama!!)

Lena woke up the next morning at 6:30am, as usual. She turned to face Kara, who was still fast asleep.

As she moved some of her blonde locks out of her face, she noticed that Kara's eyes seemed a little puffy and she had tear streaks on her cheeks. Had she been crying?

Lena was growing more and more concerned by Kara's recent behaviours. She seemed closed off somehow and was a lot quieter than usual.

She tried to brush it off and gave Kara a kiss, before getting up to get ready for work.

She slid her L-Corp slippers on and walked towards the bathroom.

Lena brushed her teeth, tied her hair up and put on a fancy, black dress.

She wrote Kara a note and placed it on her nightstand: "Good morning, darling! Hope you slept well. I'll be home for lunch and yes, I will bring potstickers." Hopefully some of her favourite foods would cheer Kara up.

She left the apartment and made her way downstairs, where her chauffeur was waiting for her,

"Good morning, Mrs. Luthor. Where to?"

"Straight to the office, please." she said.

Once she had arrived at L-Corp, she sat down at her desk while Jess briefed her on her schedule for the day: three meetings and a lot of paperwork. She was in for quite a day...

She asked Jess to fetch her latté and a bagel before she started filing through some of the papers piled on her desk.

She briefly checked her phone to see a message from Kara. Smiling, she replied.

<Kara> Good morning, my most beautiful wife!

<Lena> Good morning, gorgeous. Sleep well?

<Kara> I did until you left. :(

<Lena> I'll be home soon, darling. <3

<Kara> :)

She groaned, looking at the rest of the papers sitting in front of her,

"Why is being a boss bitch so much work?" she sighed and poured herself some scotch, "Let's just get this over with..."

Three meetings and a lot of paperwork later, it was finally time for Lena to head home.

She hopped back into the car and asked the driver to stop at Noonan's on the way back home. She ordered Kara's favourite potstickers and some donuts for good measure.

She entered the loft, exhausted and dumped the food and her bag on the kitchen counter.

Just then, she noticed Kara pacing up and down in the living room,

"Kara?"

"Lena, hi! How was work?" she hurried over to Lena and gave her a hug.

"Exhausting. Meetings back-to-back and there was this major deal that almost fell through-" she paused, noticing Kara's distraction, "Everything ok? You seem off." she cupped Kara's face in her hands.

"Oh, I'm fine..." she said, avoiding eye contact.

"No, you're not. What's wrong?" Lena guided Kara over to the couch, "You can tell me."

"I've just had some stuff on my mind recently." Kara squeezed her hands, reassuringly.

"I know... You've been acting weird lately and I'm starting to get really worried." Lena's heart started to race a little.

"I-... I need to tell you something. Something really important..." Kara's voice started to tremble.

"Kara, you're starting to scare me... You know you can trust me, right?"

"Yeah... That's why this is so hard... Lena, I've been hiding something from you for a while now..." Kara kept her gaze on the floor.

"Hiding?" Lena was taken slightly aback, "Why would you ever need to hide anything from me?"

"Because I have no idea how you're going to react to this..." Kara took a shaky breath.

"I'm sure it can't be that bad."

"Lena... I'm Supergirl..." Kara said, taking off her glasses and taking a shaky breath, "I've always been Supergirl..."

"What? That's not possible! You're joking, right?" Lena laughed nervously.

"No, I'm not..." Kara whispered as she stood up. She looked Lena in the eyes as she started levitating inches off the ground.

Lena slowly stood up, her heart pounding,

"Oh my god. Oh my god! How could you not tell me this?"

"I couldn't put you in danger," Kara said, landing back on the floor, "It was for your own safety."

Kara tried to take Lena's hands in her own but Lena took a step back, pulling away.

"My safety?! You thought that lying to me would keep me safe?" Lena started to raise her voice.

"I'm so sorry Lena, I thought I was doing the right thing. I was just so scared to tell you! I was terrified of losing you!" Tears streamed down Kara's cheeks, "Please Lena, you mean the world to me! You have to believe me, I never meant for it to go this far!" Kara pleaded with her.

Lena's head was spinning,

"I don't know what I'm supposed to believe right now, Kara. Was our marriage a lie too?!" Lena was close to tears.

"No, never! I love you more than anything! Please Lena, give me a chance to make this right, to explain!" Kara was practically on her knees.

"I don't even know who you are anymore," Lena whispered, not daring to look at her wife, "You kept this from me for so long. I trusted you with my life and now-" her voice broke off, "When were you planning on telling me?! Were you even planning to tell me in the first place?!"

"Please Lena, don't push me away. I can't lose you. I know I messed up but please don't let this destroy us. I can't live without you!"

"I- I need some space to think about this..." Lena's voice trailed off.

Lena got up and grabbed her coat and bag, leaving Kara sobbing in the middle of the living room,

"I will always love you, Lena. No matter how much you hate me."

Lena paused for a moment, looking back at her wife, distraught,

"I know." she choked, before leaving the apartment.

She trembled as she hurried down the hall, making her way to the car.

She got in and directed her attention to the driver,

"Metropolis. As fast as you can."
