Summary: Kara plans the 'best day ever' to make sure Lena forgives her. But every challenge has its hurdles.

Notes: Just a quick psa. If the writing is in cursive then it's either Kara's thoughts or just an emphasis on a word.

*The next morning*

The sun is shining through the open windows of their bedroom and Kara hears the bird twitching outside her window as she stirs. She takes a deep breath, before rolling back over in her sheets and wrapping her arms around the person lying next to her. She opens her eyes to see Lena, still asleep. Kara gently moves a strand of hair out of her face and stares at her. Thank Rao you're back. She smiles.

She slowly gets up, trying her best to be quiet and not wake Lena up. She walks over to the kitchen and flips the stove on. She grabs some basic ingredients from the shelves to make Lena a surprise breakfast-in-bed and puts them on the counter.

She then walks into the bathroom and starts brushing her teeth while she waits for the stove to heat up. Today has to be the best day ever to make sure Lena forgives me.

"Kara!!"

Kara is snapped out of her trance by a voice yelling. She quickly spits out her toothpaste and sprints into the kitchen.

Lena is holding a pack of what looks like burnt butter with a pair of oven mitts and is frantically switching the stove off. "What were you doing?!" She yells.

"I, uh-" Kara's brain doesn't respond. She stands there, dumbfounded.

"Were you trying to melt the butter over the stove?" Lena looks her up and down.

"I could have sworn I put it on the counter!" Kara rushes over to help her clean up. "I'm sorry. I was going to surprise you."

Lena sighs.

The two of them clean up the mess.

Lena takes a few steps back. "Well at least you didn't burn the loft down, or we would have had to call Supergirl." Lena jokes.

"Yeah..." Kara giggles nervously. "Hey, are you ok? You don't usually yell like that. Are you feeling ok?" She turns to Lena and holds her by the waist.

"Yeah, I'm fine." Lena massages her temples. "I guess I'm just stressed from work. I'm sorry for yelling." She pulls Kara into a hug.

"And I'm sorry for almost burning down the loft." Kara rolls her eyes and laughs.

"Yeah, what were you trying to make?" Lena lets her hands rest on Kara's shoulders as she pulls back.

"I wanted to make pancakes. I wanted to make this day the best day ever to make up for our fight..." Kara looks away, sheepishly.

"We can still do that!" Lena smiles. "Just no more making pancakes at..." She glances at the clock, "8am."

"Ok." Kara laughs.

The two of them get ready and make their way to Noonan's for some breakfast. Neither of them felt like cooking after the butter incident.

They walk in and go up to the counter.

"Hi! Can we please get a box of sticky buns, please?" Kara says to the girl behind the counter.

"Sure, how many?"

Kara turns to Lena. "How many do you want?"

"I'll take two." Lena smiles.

"Then a box of six, please." Kara smiles at the barista. "Oh! And two lattés in to-go cups, please."

"Coming right up. You can find a seat, we'll bring it over in a minute." The girl rings up their order and leaves.
