The days after Taylor's ear pain had been a whirlwind of emotions and adjustments, and Travis had been by her side through it all. Despite the pressure of her recovery and the demands of being a new mom to Emilia, Taylor had found comfort in the rhythm they were creating as a family.

Though her ear was healing well, the medication she was on made it impossible for her to breastfeed Emilia, something that weighed heavily on Taylor's heart. She had always envisioned herself nursing their daughter, but now, for the time being, she had to rely on formula. Every time Emilia cried for food, it was a bittersweet reminder of the situation.

One evening, Taylor sat on the couch, cradling Emilia in her arms, her soft baby scent bringing Taylor a sense of peace. Travis was in the kitchen, making a bottle for Emilia, moving with ease and familiarity, having taken over the feeding duties during this time.

Taylor watched him, her heart full of gratitude. He had been her rock throughout this whole experience, taking care of their daughter with such tenderness while also being there for her. She hadn't realized how much she needed him until now.

Travis returned with the bottle and sat beside her, handing it over gently. "Here you go," he said softly, smiling as Taylor adjusted Emilia in her arms.

As Emilia latched onto the bottle, her tiny hands grasping at Taylor's shirt, Taylor let out a soft sigh, watching her daughter's little face relax as she drank.

"Thank you," Taylor whispered, her voice laced with emotion. "For everything. I don't know what I'd do without you."

Travis gave her a warm smile, brushing a lock of hair from her face. "You don't have to thank me, Tay. We're in this together. I'm just glad I can help."

Taylor leaned into him, resting her head against his shoulder as she held Emilia. "I just wish I could do more. I feel so... helpless."

"You're doing everything you can," Travis reassured her, his voice steady. "You're here, holding her, loving her. That's what matters most. She doesn't care if it's a bottle or breastfeeding—she just wants you."

Taylor looked down at Emilia, her heart swelling with love as she watched her daughter drink peacefully. The guilt and frustration she had been feeling slowly began to fade, replaced by a deep sense of connection and gratitude.

"I know you're right," Taylor said softly. "I just needed to hear it."

Travis kissed the top of her head. "You're an amazing mom, Tay. Emilia's lucky to have you. And so am I."

As Emilia finished her bottle, Taylor adjusted her, holding her close to her chest and gently rocking her. The warmth of her baby against her skin brought her a sense of calm that she hadn't felt in days. She closed her eyes, savoring the moment, letting the peace settle over her.

Travis watched them, his heart full as he saw the bond between Taylor and Emilia grow stronger each day. He knew this was just a temporary hurdle, and soon Taylor would be back to feeling like herself again. But for now, he was happy to be the one making bottles and helping in any way he could.

After a while, Emilia's eyelids began to droop, her tiny body relaxing into Taylor's arms. Taylor smiled, gently lifting her to burp her, the simple act filling her with a quiet joy.

Once Emilia was asleep, Travis took her from Taylor's arms, placing her in the bassinet nearby. Taylor leaned back against the couch, exhaustion and contentment washing over her.

"Why don't you get some rest?" Travis suggested, taking a seat beside her again. "I'll keep an eye on Emilia."

Taylor nodded, though her eyes were already closing. "Okay, but only for a little bit."

She curled up against him, feeling safe and loved. The weight of the past few days felt lighter now, knowing that Travis was there with her through every moment.

As Taylor drifted off to sleep, Travis glanced at the bassinet, where Emilia slept soundly. He couldn't help but smile. Despite the challenges, the sleepless nights, and the unexpected changes, their little family was stronger than ever.

And as long as they had each other, they could handle anything.
