It was late into the night, and the penthouse was bathed in the soft glow of moonlight streaming through the windows. The city outside was alive with its usual energy, but inside, everything was still. Taylor and Travis were asleep in their bed, the quiet only interrupted by the occasional distant honk or murmur of the streets below.

But despite the calm surroundings, Taylor was restless. In her sleep, her face twisted in discomfort, soft whimpers escaping her lips as her dreams took a turn for the worse. A deep feeling of longing settled into her chest, and without realizing it, her mind drifted to Meredith Grey, her beloved cat. She began to cry softly in her sleep, calling out for her in barely audible whispers.

"Meredith..."

Travis stirred beside her, sensing the shift in her breathing, but he was still deep in his own sleep, unaware of her distress. However, one of her security guards stationed nearby was more attuned to the sound. They had been trained to notice every detail, and the moment they heard her quiet sobs, they stepped into action.

John, her head of security, quickly entered the room, his eyes scanning the space and realizing that Taylor was still asleep but clearly in the throes of a troubling dream. He listened closely as she mumbled again, this time a bit louder.

"Meredith...where are you?"

Without hesitation, John turned and signaled to one of the other guards to bring Meredith, who had been resting in her usual spot in another room. Within minutes, the guard returned, carefully holding the fluffy cat in his arms, her calm demeanor a stark contrast to Taylor's distress.

Gently, John approached the bed, setting Meredith down beside Taylor. The cat immediately responded to Taylor's presence, curling up against her side as if sensing her need for comfort. As soon as Meredith's soft fur brushed against Taylor's arm, her breathing started to slow. The warmth and familiarity of her cat seemed to ease her anxiety, and the quiet tears began to dry.

In her sleep, Taylor instinctively moved away from Travis, rolling over and wrapping her arms around Meredith. The cat nestled into her chest, purring softly, the sound vibrating through the stillness of the room. Taylor's restless movements stilled, and her face, once tense with emotion, softened as the comfort of her beloved pet soothed her.

John and the other guards watched for a moment, making sure that she was calming down. Taylor's breathing had steadied, and the tension in her body melted away as she cuddled up with Meredith. She was falling deeper into a peaceful, dreamless sleep.

Satisfied that she was alright, John motioned for the team to leave the room. They exited quietly, closing the door behind them and returning to their posts, ever vigilant but now reassured that Taylor was resting peacefully.

In the bed, Taylor held Meredith close, the weight of the cat's soft body providing her with the comfort she had unconsciously craved. Travis, still half-asleep, shifted but didn't wake fully, only noticing that Taylor had moved. He reached out briefly, his hand brushing her arm before settling back into his own slumber.

For the rest of the night, Taylor remained still, her sleep undisturbed as she found solace in the presence of her cat. The anxiety and sadness that had gripped her earlier in the night were gone, replaced by the simple comfort of having Meredith by her side. And with that, she slept deeply, her dreams quiet and peaceful, her heart calm once again.
