"Don't be anxious, the plane will arrive on time." A flight attendant assured me and smiled at me.
"Are you sure?" I asked with a doubtful tone.
"Yes, Ma'am." Kerby replied with a smile. I laughed at our conversation.
"I'm so proud of you! Our flight attendant is standing so pretty!" I complimented her excitedly, not minding the other passengers.
She put her finger on her mouth asking me to shut up. "Shhh. Lower your voice. Aren't you afraid of getting recognized?" She asked. I could feel how the girl beside me peeks a little.
"If that happens. You'll have to hide me." I joked.
"Kyle was also here. He's from a business trip. If we knew you're also in Thailand we could have a meet up." She informed me. Regretting the opportunity to catch up. We're all too busy with our lives, we didn't have time together.
Years ago, I thought busyness was never an excuse because if you want to go you will go. If you want to meet a friend, you will meet a friend. Not until I experienced having a fully scheduled planner. Even agendas for next month were planned.
"Maybe some time. We'll arrange that." I said before saying good bye to her because she still had work to do.
I put my sunglasses on even if there's no sun. I failed to get a window seat that is close to the aisle- too bad. I need sunglasses to keep a low profile. Thinking of it, I should have worn simple clothing. I don't want to be spotted by some paparazzi.
Kerby achieved her dreams- she's a really beautiful flight attendant. She accomplished her plan to travel the world with that uniform. I am so proud of her. She said Kyle was from a business trip- he's probably doing great in business.
I wonder where Ricca is right now. I lose contact with them after years due to my busy work and studies. They were also busy with their own life. In the past five years- I can count in my hands the times we ate together.
"Hey. Long time no see! It's good to see you here." I heard Kyle say. He talked to the woman beside me and they exchanged seats. Kerby winked at me when the girl left but I replied with a curious look.
"She agreed. This Jacob is seated in first class, easy swap." Kerby explained.
"She just exchanged the opportunity to see you for a first class seat. What a pity." She teased me before leaving us. I gestured to her to lower her voice because other passengers might have noticed me.
I take my sunglasses off as a sign of respect when talking to him but I can't take my mask off. "How are you?" I asked.
He didn't answer me, instead he whispered a question. "You're already a star, why didn't you get a first class seat?" I knew he'd ask that.
"Back in a hurry. I wasn't prepared." I briefly explained. "Where's my girlfriend that turned out to be your girlfriend?" I asked about Ricca.
I am so glad they were still together after years.
"She's probably working in the bank right now and correction- Fiance." He showed me the ring on his finger. My mouth formed an 'o'.
"Such big news. You didn't inform us."
"We did last month. You're just too busy. You can't even see our messages. You saw it once but we know you never do back reads." He said, I apologised for it and I told him about what's going on in my life. It's nice catching up with a friend. We also set a date and planned about having dinner together because it's been a long time.
After the plane landed, I didn't get the time to say goodbye to Kerby who's still busy with her work. I was really in a hurry. I walked normally because of one wrong move and I will be more late.
