UNIVERSAL CHAOS

Chapter One

      The bell rang as a signal for the end of class and the day. All the students silently cheered in their hearts, except for those who had the guts to do so in front of their teachers.

"Alright. That will be all for today, class. And remember to do the assignment I gave you." The professor dismissed the class and the students all bid farewell before stuffing their stuff into their bags.

It was already late afternoon.

Hannah looked out the window then took her bag. She headed out into the hallway just outside her classroom before heading down the stairs down until the first floor.

When she reached the first floor, she turned the corner and went straight to the play area where most of the young elementarians hang around to play.

She reached the play area and saw her little sister sitting with her friends on a bench and approached her.

Hannah smiled and made her presence known, "Fine afternoon, isn't it, my lady." She bowed in front of Helen who giggled then turned to the young boy and girl next to here, "And I see that you're with your friends! Good afternoon, Sammy and Lilly."

They gave her bright and wide smiles. "Good afternoon, Sister Hannah!" Sammy greeted her while Lilly waved with a small smile swaying on her lips.

Hannah pinched both of their cheeks, "No need to be so polite," she said coquettishly. Hannah grabbed her sister's small hand, "Time to go, Helen!"

"Bye-bye, Sammy and Lilly!" Helen waved farewell to the two.

"Goodbye Sammy and Lilly. Go home-" A scream interrupted Hannah and she turned her head.

A portal opened at the other end of the hallway and monsters came out of the portal lunging at any person it sees.

Hannah muttered a low curse under her breath. She turned towards the girls and Sammy then said one word. "Run."

Helen, Sammy, and Lilly began to run immediately with Hannah following behind them.

"Don't look back! Just keep running!" She shouted, and good thing they were children who listened.

Hannah stared as monsters start to devour students one after another. The walls were painted with students blood. Screams echoed throughout the whole school.

They reached the cafeteria and it was a mess. A portal floated in the middle of the cafeteria where the monsters came out of.

Corpses littered the floors of the cafeteria while the remaining students fought back the monsters. Some were even slaughtered and eaten by the monsters.

Hannah recognized all of them.

Rina, the cheerleader captain and three of her friends. She was covered in blood and some parts of her clothes were ripped, same goes for the other three. They were back to back, watching each other's backs.

Kyla and Ryan, the two gymnastic champions of the school. They made a perfect pair with the knives and their skills.

Niven, the class president of Hannah's class. He fought alone with a feline monster who was five times larger than him.

Samantha, the eldest sister of Sammy, also the secretary of Hannah's class. She had a crazed smile as she swinged her arms around, attacking a monster.

Roger, the smartest student in school fighting a monster using combat. He kicked a monster and slammed his fist into it's snout. Hannah didn't even know he could fight.
