Part 26

Next day Sai went to that institution where she wanted to take admission to learn photography. She was shocked as she got to know the last date of admission was over  yesterday. Today, they refused to accept her application.

"Excuse me, I clearly remember last date for submitting admission form was after this week. I checked on college's website about a month ago. I thought I had time, then how come suddenly the date is changed?" Sai inquired from the the admin office clerk.

"Ma'am probably you didn't check the website recently, the changes in the last date of admission was published there atleast ten days ago and the information was also updated in the brochures and notice board." Clerk answered.

Sai couldn't believe she missed the admission date. She cursed herself mentally for not keep checking the college website regularly and she even slapped herself mentally when she realized that even if she had managed to submit the admission form yesterday instead of wasting it in Shonali kaku's silly kitty party then she would have got admission. She now remembered Virat's advice about giving that kitty party a miss and go to college instead, prioritizing her work. She was such a fool to not listen.

Sai was angry now. She bumped her fist on the clerk's table. "How can they just change the admission dates schedule? This is so wrong. I want to complain."

"Ma'am, I cant do anything about it, it was a management decision. And you can put your complaint in our complaint/suggestion box outside." Clerk replied robotically like he was used to. Sai realized he won't understand her frustration, it was not in his job profile to empathize and solve problems.

"Phir se admission kab start honge?" Sai asked one more question.

"Uske liye to aapko next term ka wait karna hoga, that is, next year." Clerk answered her query.

"What! One whole year." Sai wondered out loud as she sat down on the office chair  thinking about the other options. She was really disappointed now. This was the best institution, there were other options but she wanted only best for her career. Now she has to make compromise with the other college or just waste one whole year and she was hating it.

Sai was thinking to go back home when Virat called, "Hey! Your work done?" He asked.

"No. actually there is a problem. I will tell you at home." Sai replied sadly.

Virat sensed something went wrong. "You had your lunch?" He asked.

"No" Sai answered.

"Then why don't you come to my office. I have some free time before next meeting now so we will have lunch together and you can tell me about your problem." Virat suggested.
