Seonghwa

A year later

Seonghwa excitedly dragged Hongjoong throughout the palace. The hallways filled with loud footsteps running around and their giggles and laughter mixing together.

After the incident, Seonghwa returned to his King duties and managed to bring back his old kingdom to its feet. Now happily living together with Hongjoong ruling beside him. Life was perfect.

His Father stayed with them, watching over them but mostly stayed at the cost to keep an eye on every pirate ship that was now allowed to visit the Main Land. After all, the bond between the royals and the pirate has been restored. No more life long enemies.

And the Rixa Rubin stayed secured in the same cave.

"And where do you think you two lovey doveys are heading?" Captain Fredel's voice echoed through the corridor, they stopped the momeny they saw him turning in the corner they were about to take a turn to.

Seonghwa laughed lightly in embarrassment at their tomfoolery, acting like complete teenagers. "You know what day it is, Father."

"I know what day it is." the older man crossed his arms over his chest, the corner of his lips tugged a small smile while raising a brow at his son.

"I made a promise to him 4 years ago." Seonghwa cooed, reminding him.

His Father laughed in amusement, "Did you kids pack your things?"

"Yes sir, they're already brought there." Hongjoong politely responded.

"Alright, you kids take care. And don't do anything stupid." he warned, pointing at Seonghwa.

"You have my word." Seonghwa smiled.

Just as they were about to continue walking, his Father stopped him. "Aren't you forgetting something?"

Seonghwa laughed, playfully rolling his eyes. "Almost." he joked before he was pulled in for a short hug.

"You guys enjoy the beauty of the world and come back home safely, I will take care of the kingdom in the meantime." he patted his son's back.

"Sure will."

With a proud smile he parts himself away from the hug, "You kids better go, they're already waiting for you."

What was the promise he made to Hongjoong 4 years ago you may think?

Ofcourse it was sailing the ocean with him!

What else?

They arrived by the shore after what seemed forever. The others were already done loading their belongings and only the couple were missing before they could finally go ahead and sail the infinite oceans.

"You guys sure took your time." Jongho complained once they were onboard and ready to go.

"Can't leave without saying goodbye, right?" Seonghwa playfully rolled his eyes at him.

"Well atleast we're ready to go." Mingi chuckles already going for the helm.

Hongjoong started looking around, searching for two specific people. "Where are the kids?"

"Oh they're playing with Yunho and Yeosang I think." Wooyoung says from behind, carrying a large box that he placed somewhere down.

Suddenly two loud high pitched laughters were heard, running towards Hongjoong and Seonghwa's legs and hugging them.

"There are they." Seonghwa smiled in amusement, ruffling one of the kids' hair.

Them having adopted children wasn't what you expected, right? Well guess what? They're married aswell. If the sapphire rings on both of their ring fingers was anything to go by.

"Yeosang showed us how to make flower crowns!" the little girl that was hugging Hongjoong's leg showed them the crown she made.

"That's really pretty, it would suit you so much." Hongjoong happily took the crown before placing it ontop of her head, she ran off to show it to her other uncles around.

The little boy that was holding on to Seonghwa's trousers ran after her while giggling.

They both proudly smiled to themselves at the little family they now have. Things in life do get better.

"Who ever reaches the crow's nest last gets to stay up all night and control the helm." Hongjoong suddenly challenged.

Before Seonghwa could even process what he said, he followed Hongjoong's figure who ran away and started climbing up to the crow's nest.

"Hey that's cheating! I wasn't listening." Seonghwa shouted after him, sprinting to climb after him.

Shame on Hongjoong but Seonghwa reached the crow's nest faster than him. He sat down on the edge with his feet dangling until Hongjoong joined him while panting.

"You're still faster than me." Hongjoong laughed amused.

"I'll always be." Seonghwa smiles before shamelessly stealing a longing kiss from Hongjoong.

The younger immediately responded, melting right in to the kiss. But only for them to part away when someone jumped on the crow's nest behind him, slightly shaking the wooden floor of it.

They both frowned to see San standing there.

"What are you doing up here?" Hongjoong questioned him.

"I was at the main sail, checking for tears and I heard you racing up here. Who gets in last has to stay up night and control the helm but I guess I misunderstood.. I thought you meant everyone.." San embarrassedly admitted, slowly climbing his way back down at the realization.

Seonghwa and Hongjoong bursted out in laughter.

Life does get better and Seonghwa was grateful he hadn't ended his life that night. He was forever grateful for Minho saving him that time.

This is your sign to not end it too earlier.

Suffering isn't forever.
