a trip with Oobleck

It's the day of the first years doing their first mission, and Ozpin has allowed team RWBY to take on a mission that Second Year Students and higher can take, so not only they met with Oobleck but they also are accompanied by the Lieutenant with 6 Imperial First space Marines and a team of 12 cadians that consists of Barry and Pyper who got back from a mission wit" team CFVY and could relax along the way with 3 Ogryns with them "come let's get going, we have White Scar reinforcements at the ready with part of the 19th Battleline Terminator Company from the Silver Templars, with part of the 5th Close Support Company from Death Guard and part of 12th Fire Support Company from the Atlantean Spears Death Company but that's if stuff turns to custard" says the Lieutenant to Oobleck and team RWBY "do we really need that much firepower?" Asks blake "well by the sounds of it. Mt Glenn is possibly the main base of operations for the White Fang. Therefore, they will have units of Chaos and Grimm, so we need the extra precautions. Also, there are guardsmen to come with these space marines reinforcements. There are units posted where the tunnel from Mt Glenn to vale ends so they can be ready just in case there's a breach, we can not be too prepared"  says the Lieutenant as everyone gets on the ship and Ruby sits next to an ogrynn with Oobleck across from.her and blake next to her "ello what's your name?" Asks a ogryn smiling all friendly like, "my name is Ruby. What is yours?" Ruby asks, returning the smile. "My name is Gav, and that there is my friend Bob, and we like potato skins," says Gav

"How do you get the potato skins?" Asks Ruby "by peeling the potatoes for the other guardsmen, of course, and we get the skins to eat," says Bob "I guess that's a way of getting rid of potato skins I guess, have your tried carrot skins before?" Asks Ruby. "What's a carrot?" Asks Gav "if is a long orange stick like thing that's very crunchy to eat that you have to peel like a potato. It's the best way I can describe it, I guess," Ruby says. "I don't think we have had carrots before," says Bob

Later, at Mt Glenn

Three camps have been set up in the town. One camp has 4 guardsmen 6 by Barry and 2 space marines and 1 ogrynn. The second camp has Gave and Bob with 2 space Marines and 4 other guardsmen led by Pyper, and the final camp has 2 space Marines, the Lieutenant, the last 4 guardsmen, team RWBY and Oobleck. Ruby takes the first watch on the final camp with one of the Guardsmen with her "its quiet put here isn't it" says the guardsman making small talk "yea, it's relaxing to be honest and it's different to see Grimm not even bother with attacking us and just avoid us" says Ruby looming at the Behemoths now going into the forest "yea, so there are different Grimm that think differently" says the guardsman with his long-las resting on his lap "so what's the deal with this place, why was a whole city abandoned?" Asks the guardsman."Well, this was to be a new city in the region of vale that just was meant to fail from the start because of certain things like the constant caves filled with Grimm causing great attacks and where this city was, it could have been something but it can't because of its design or something like that" says ruby "well what happened to everyone they did live here?" Asks the guardsman "sealed themselves into the underground part of the city pretty much sealing themselves into a tomb," says Ruby, looking up at the night sky now. "That is a rough life to be living here, Hey its at least not as bad as fighting bugs or greenskins," says the guardsman as the lieutenant climbs up to the pair "see anything unusual?" He asks. "Just a couple of Behemoths doing their own thing and just staying away, other than that nothing out of the ordinary." Says Ruby "haven't seen any operatives of chaos or white fang either," says the guardsman "as you were. Oh, and Ruby, it's time to change person for watch," says the Lieutenant as he gets down as Ruby gets down too and wakes up blake

Later into the night, Ruby is woken up by Zwei, who needs to use the bathroom, and Ruby complains a little before complying, and she takes a guardsman with her who has communication to the Lieutenant "you could have done that anywhere this city is a wasteland" says Ruby earning a bark from zwei as a voice is heard and her, zwei and the guardsman get to cover and Ruby looks to see what it was to be met with a pair of White Fang Grunts standing guard with a Iron Warrior standing guard.

"I thought I heard a beowolf or something," says one of the grunts. "Maybe you should investigate," says the Iron warrior. "In this city, noooooo, thank you, let's just finish our shift and get back inside, this place gives me the creeps," says the grunt as they all go in through the Door "they have gone inside, should we inform the others?" Asks the guardsman."Let's try" Ruby says hopeful as both don't have a form of connection to the signals they need so they make their way back as something shifts underneath them and the guardsman was sadly in the middle of the road just about to collapse where he looks at Ruby "take the communication device, you might need it more than me now" he says before passing Ruby the device and just as she pockets the device the ground shifts again and falls open with the guardsman falling to his unfortunate death landing head first I to the solid stone ground bellow smoshing his head into a red splatter with shards of bone and brain scattered around and Ruby falls not to long later getting nearly out by the fall because she landed on the body of the guardsman who broke her fall.

She looks up to see two white fang grunts above her and a pair of red eyes belonging to someone looking down on her as the grunts say something before she passes out. The guards take her away with the figure looking up at the hole she fell from and the body she landed on. The figure is revealed to be Warpsmith Herdax, who is personally overseeing the iron warriors upgrading the train to a siege engine to breach the end of the tunnel and cause an attack on vale while there's a few bullheads on the other side of the mountain to deliver the Grimm Machines to aid in the attack of the Grimm expecting alot of damage done and a form of confusion, distrust and fear to awaken but the anti air systems will be hot because of the few times that Chaos had ships fly in so the flight into vale will be hard but hopeful that some of the defenses do break from modifications they had done.
