"This is a really nice place," Adam said, with the flair of a tour guide. "We eat here whenever we feel fancy."
"Otherwise, we just go Bestie's Diner," Steve added. "Nothing wrong with that, they serve amazing food too."
"Yeah, but this place has a better ambience," Adam chimed in. "More cozy, and relaxing."
"Yeah, I'll give you that," Steve chuckled. "Come on. They serve really good scones."
"And their fluffy pancakes are pretty good too," Nina added.
"But they also serve riffraff, apparently," Harper pointed out.
Adam turned to her in surprise. "What do you mean, Mum?"
Harper nodded towards one of the umbrella-topped outdoor tables. They all turned to see Heihachi sitting there, enjoying a cup of coffee.
"Oh, great," Steve groaned. "I hope he two of you won't try to unalive him or something."
"Why?" Adam asked, confused. "Why would they unalive him?"
Nina smirked. "Adam, your parents were amiably discussing about me or Anna just ending him."
"Because you were an assassin for the greater good, and this crank is greater bad," Jacob added.
Adam shook his head in surprise. "By golly, the two of you... what happened?"
His parents simply shrugged. Steve sighed and just pushed the four of them into shop before Heihachi could see them loitering about.
"Just go in, the four of you!" Steve hissed as he brought them in. "Just be glad that he didn't see us."
"So what if he did, eh?" Jacob bellowed, shaking his fist in the air as he turned to go to out again. "Are we not allowed to be here when he's here?!"
"Grandpa!" Steve groaned, blocking him. "Just go in, will you? There's no use trying to fight this guy. Even he's just sitting there with a cuppa joe now."
"He's right, Heihachi is just having his breakfast," Nina added, amused at the old couple's aggressive nature. "Just let him be, guys. He isn't even disturbing anyone. Jun told me that she actually saw them at La Poisson yesterday, and he saw them, but he didn't even try to interact, apparently."
"That's nice," Steve sighed, relieved. "Maybe we should just see what unfolds."
Adam smirked. "Probably some drama. Let's watch."
Steve rolled his eyes. "Dad, if you want drama, just look at your parents. They're all the drama you need."
"Oi," Harper nudged him.
"What, he's just stating facts," Adam added, much to his parents' surprise. "The two of you have been acting funny since this morning."
"Well, yeah, we saw how your friend felt when this bloke showed up," Harper said. "That poor boy lost everything and then he shows up when he's finally happy."
Adam stared her in shock. "Darn! You're right, Mum."
Steve smirked. "You wanted drama, there you go."
"Steve!" Nina tapped his back.
"What, it's true!" Steve chuckled.
Nina sighed. "Let's just find a table and order something. We've been standing around here and making a scene."
"Now we are the drama!" Steve laughed as he went over to a table.Heihachi shook his head as he watched the entire scene unfold in the cafe. But it was still funny, how Nina and Steve had reunited, and there was his father too. It made him wonder how they even found out about Adam. And then there were his parents too.
They seemed more aggressive than any of the younger fighters he'd seen.
But it was adorable though, how they were fooling around as a family. It's a wonder how even Nina, the cold-hearted Silent Assassin, was living with her family. Then again, she wasn't an assassin anymore. But she was still working for Jin.
Heihachi placed his cup down on the saucer and looked at the G Corp building in the distance. Kazuya was probably on his way to work now. He didn't know why he was thinking of that now. His gaze then shifted over to the Mishima Zaibatsu building on the other side of the city and sighed. The company he worked so hard to build, but Jin had worked harder on it. Heihachi didn't even want it back at this point.
He turned to look at Nina and gang, who now sat talking animatedly about something with their gazes occasionally falling on him, and couldn't help but chuckle. It was certainly a funny sight."You sure he didn't see us?" Steve said, carefully cutting his scone in the middle. "Because if not, then why is he smiling like that."
"Because he loony," Jacob remarked, earning a snort from Adam.
"I don't think that's why he's smiling," Nina smirked, smothering her fluffy pancakes with layer after layer of butter. "He probably saw us."
"And that's a problem?" Adam smirked.
Nina chuckled. "Nah. But Mom's right. He really is loony."
"See!" Harper grinned. "She agrees with me."
"Believe me, I've worked with him before, and I know," Nina added, now pouring maple syrup over her pancakes. "Anyway, any idea what Heihachi might do after this? Because now that he's here, he's like a walking bomb."
"More like a sitting bomb," Steve added, motioning towards Heihachi. "Maybe we should up our guards or something."
"What for, we have two hitmen with us," Adam said, picking up his English muffin. "That is, besides us."
"Who?" Nina asked, cutting a rather large piece of her pancake to eat.
Adam motioned towards his parents. "There, they're sitting right here. My lovely parents."
"When should we do it, Addy? Just say the word," Jacob grinned.
Harper frowned at Heihachi. "But seriously though, why does he keep looking up like that?"
"G Corp, Grandma," Steve explained. "That's where Kazuya works."
"Oh, yeah," Harper nodded. "So that means he's planning to ambush him?"
"Should I tell Jun?" Nina frowned, taking her phone out.
"Should I tell Kazuya?" Adam added.
"Well, I don't like the sound of that, but they should know..." Steve frowned. "Maybe Kazuya can arrange for some defences."
"Jack Bots, maybe?" Adam suggested.
"Isn't that one or those things that bombed him and he survived?" Jacob frowned, slicing his pie. "Maybe put up a few bear traps or stink bombs, something like that. Old-fashioned but foolproof."
Steve pointed at his grandfather, smirking at his parents. "Hey, he's actually got a point. We should do that."
"We should," Nina nodded, smirking. "Why didn't anyone think of that?"
They suddenly spotted Heihachi getting up and leaving.
"Hey, isn't he paying?" Harper piped up. "He had such a big meal and he's planning to run off?"
"Mum, customers pay before eating in this shop," Adam reminded. "We paid while ordering just now, remember?"
"Oh yeah," Harper relaxed, nodding.
"Yeah, we've gotta warn the Mishima gang," Steve frowned. "I'm gonna tell Jin about this..."Kazuya got a notification on the dashboard screen of his car as he drove to work.
***WARNING*** Heihachi Mishima spotted staring at G Corp building at breakfast
This is not a drill
He frowned to himself and called his assistant for backup. "Arrange for Jack defences."
And then he got another notification from Adam.
Maybe you should put up bear traps and stink bombs instead of Jacks
Old-fashioned but foolproof
Advice from my dad
"And arrange for bear traps and stink bombs as well," Kazuya added, much to his assistant's surprise. "Old-fashioned but foolproof."
"Right away, Sir," the assistant affirmed.
Kazuya sighed, wondering what Heihachi was actually planning. He was showing up around town now, having breakfast in broad daylight. It seemed like a peaceful gesture, even ignoring them at the bar. He wasn't sure if the others saw Heihachi, maybe they did, but Kazuya chose to not speak of it.
And now Nina and gang saw him at breakfast.
