The trip to Chigogafuchi was resumed, with them taking the ferry from Benten-maru once more. This time, everyone pushed Heihachi to the seat beside Kazuya, much to the latter's dismay, and things were extremely awkward.
Heihachi had no clue how to make conversation either, especially with someone who practically glued himself to the window beside him. He ended up leaning back to scroll through his phone.
And that's when he received a text from Jun.

Talk to him
Why else did I switch spots with you?

Can we switch back?

No.

It was a no with a period at the back too, something that made Heihachi groaned as he realised that there was no talking his way out of it. In the end, he summoned up enough courage and poked Kazuya's shoulder to get his attention.
"What?!" The physically older man practically barked back, causing Heihachi to wince in surprise.
"I just thought maybe we should talk since your family put us together," Heihachi said, pointing his thumb at Jun.
Kazuya shook his head. "I don't have anything to talk about with you."
Heihachi tried to ignore that. "How's your sneaker collection?"
"How your geta collection?" Kazuya clapped back.
"Good, I'm glad you asked," Heihachi said. "It's still thriving."
Kazuya grumbled something in reply and turned right back to the window. It felt useless trying to talk to him. Heihachi quietly turned to Jun and frowned at her, to which she responded by pointing at her phone.

It's a start
Try talking to him some more

You really want to see me lose face, do you

Who cares about your face at this point?
Stop caring about that

"So, what is she telling you?" Kazuya asked without looking away from the window.
Heihachi was a little surprised that he knew exactly who he was texting. "She's telling me that she doesn't care about my face," he eventually said.
Kazuya frowned as he turned to look at him. "Why would anyone care about your ugly face at this point?"
"Hey, your face was derived from this face, keep that in mind," Heihachi smirked, circling both of their faces with is finger.
"I prefer to think that I inherited Jii-san's face instead," Kazuya smirked. "You inherited that too, right?"
Heihachi sighed. "Yes. I can see that you anything but want to associate me with you."
Kazuya rolled his eyes as he leaned back, his arms crossed. "Haven't I made myself clear on that?"
"You're acting like an angry teenager," Heihachi couldn't help but say.
"Feels like I'm back in my teen years too," Kazuya shrugged. "All those repressed emotions, whatever I felt then, it's all resurfacing now. I do feel like I'm back to being my teenage self."
Heihachi sighed. "Maybe you should take electric guitar classes." He turned to look at him. "Did you consider after... that?"
Kazuya shook his head. "No. After you threw me off the Precipice of Fate for that, I never felt like touching a guitar again. I returned the one I borrowed from the centre, then never went to it again."
"I'm sorry for that," Heihachi quietly said. He tried to touch Kazuya's head, but his arm was pushed away before it could even near him.
"Don't even think about it," Kazuya frowned. "Why do you keep doing that?"
Heihachi frowned, giving him a strange look. "This is the first time I'm doing that?"
Kazuya frowned, realising that he mixed up the fact that the real Heihachi had done it in his dream and it never happened in real life. "Never mind. Just don't touch me like that."
Heihachi nodded as he kept his hands to himself. "Okay. I won't." He looked at Kazuya with a thoughtful frown on his face. "But you should learn the electric guitar. You've always wanted to, don't let that incident stop you."
"Maybe I will," Kazuya murmured, nodding slightly. "Thanks."
"For what?" Heihachi asked.
"For reminding me how I've always wanted to play back then."

Jun grinned excitedly as she watched the exchanged between Heihachi and her husband. She turned to Amber, her grin not faltering the slightest, and gave her thigh a nudge.
"Mmm?" Amber hummed in reply, not looking up from her phone.
"Kazuya and Heihachi are getting along good!" Jun squealed.
Amber showed no signs of excitement. "Joy." She blandly said.
Jun frowned and turned back to watching Kazuya and Heihachi interact with one another. She was dismayed to find Kazuya going back to staring out the window and Heihachi going back to scrolling through his phone. Jun quickly took hers out and texted him.

So how did it go?
Good?
I spotted Kazuya actually talking to you

He's acting like a teenager

That's normal
He's always like that

No he's worse now
So I asked him if he managed to take guitar classes after what happened

He didn't...
Kazuya gave up music after that

Yeah...
I urged him to take guitar classes now since it's not too late
He seemed to consider it
Even thanked me for reminding him of it.

Jun was in tears when she read that.

Aww!
Thanks for telling him that
I stopped urging him since I know what how felt about it
That incident left him scarred

Scarred indeed
But I know I'm not exactly one to talk

Come on, at least you're trying to mend your ways now

Those weren't even MY ways to begin with
We are not the same person

That's the spirit!
The old Heihachi would NEVER do something like this
He never treated Kazuya like a son

She looked at Heihachi and gave him a gesture of determination. Heihachi couldn't help but smile at that as he nodded in reply. Jun turned back to Amber and frowned. Now there was this loose end to tie up.
Maybe she should try to have her bond with Heihachi as well.
The trip to Chigogafuchi was a short one and they soon got off. Kazuya left Heihachi first chance he got and practically zoomed his way back to Jun.
"How was it?" Jun asked.
Kazuya took a deep breath and nodded. "Good, I guess. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be." He looked at her. "Should I take electric guitar classes?"
Jun smiled at him. "Why not?" She linked her arm with his and leaned against him as they walked down the jetty. "I feel like you'd make a fine rockstar."
"I'm glad that you think that way," Kazuya couldn't help but smile as well. He sighed before speaking again. "Maybe I should go sign up, soon as we get home."
Jin smirked as he caught up, having overheard their conversation. "We should play together when you're good enough."
"Why not you teach him instead?" Jun suggested, straightening herself to look at him with a smile.
Jin shrugged. "I suppose I can, but I'm not sure if I'm a good teacher."
"I'm sure you'll be a fine teacher," Kazuya chuckled. "Imagine me being in an electric guitar class. I'm sure I'll be the oldest there, among a bunch of teens and... preteens. Might as well have a private tutor."
Jin nodded. "Nights after work? First, we have to get you a guitar."
"Just give him one of yours, you have like... five?" Jun added.
"Three," Jin corrected. "And they all hold their own sentimental value, so no."
Kazuya sighed. "That's fine, Jun. I'll just get me a new one."
Jun shrugged, hugging Kazuya's arm more snug. "Sure."
