Mays POV:
We go to court today. I'm anxious to see what happens, but confident that I'll be back living with dad and the guys soon.

"Court case 10975 is now in progress. A session on the guardianship of one May Bathilda Reed. Jack Johnson against Mary Sheafer of House of Heaven orphanage. First on stand is Mary Sheafer. Please stand." The judge spoke aloud for everyone to hear.

Ms. Sheafer stood and walked to stand.

"May has always been a blessing to have in our home. We were, of course, happy to see she was adopted but sad to loose such a bright young women." Bull shit.

Ms. Sheafer went on and on about how the bruises and cuts all over me were because dad abused me. Can you believe that? Dad actually abusing me?

"Thank you Ms. Sheafer. Jack Johnson to the stand please." The judge calls out. All the guys shift uncomfortably in their seats while Jack goes up at speak.

"May is one of the best things that's ever happened to me. I've never abused her or treated her poorly. The only injury sustained in my care was a self-conflicted accident. I would never hurt her. She's my daughter and I love her. Yeah, I made a mistake. My adoption license was ten days expired. But had I known it was expired I would have gotten it renewed." Jack began. The jury was taking notes and the judge was staring into dads soul. Kinda freaky.

"Then how might you say May Bathilda Reed sustained her injuries?" The judge asked.

"They were given to her by Ms. Mary Sheafer herself. I witnessed it twice. Once the first day I adopted May, still at the orphanage, and a second time last Sunday when Ms. Sheafer came to get May." Jack finished.

"Are there any further witnesses to the accused?" The judge asks yet another question. All eight guys stood. And Tony. He saw the first from the doorway.

"Any witnesses of other case beatings?" The Judge asks her final question. This time, only Tony stood up. He looks so scared and confident at the same time.

"Young man, can you please come to stand and share your encounters?" Tony shuffled up to stand and dad returned to his seat.

"Well, I've been at the orphanage my whole life, I've witnessed hundreds of beatings. No exaggeration. I witnessed Ms. Sheafer slap May in the face on her last day for saying goodbye to her little brother August. I also witnessed this past Sunday evening when Ms. Sheafer shoved May into a wall and slapped her." Tony told his story.

"Thank you. And are there any other witnesses to Sunday nights beatings?" The whole orphanage of children stood up on the left side of the room. And on the right side, was Shawn.

"Thanks you. And Tony Di Angelo, may I ask what happened to yourself?" The judge finally asks the question we've all been dying to hear.

"I was beat by Ms. Sheafer for protecting a seven year old boy from her wrath." The judge pounded her gavel harshly.

"Court adjourned. Custody returns to one

(Just to piss you off)

Jack Johnson." Everyone cheered and the police came to take Ms. Sheafer away.

As we rushed out of the court house, I never let go of dad. He was carrying me like a princess and my arms were hugging him tight around his neck.

"I've got you Princess. And I'm never letting go." As happy as I am to be back with dad and the guys, I can't help but think of Tony.

We had always promised each other that we would never tel large police the terrible awful that went on at the orphanage. If they knew then they would split us up, that would be worse than staying there. But now that I'm adopted, Gus is adopted and Tony is almost 18, were being separated anyways.

"May." Someone calls behind us. I jump out of dads arms and look to see who it is. I see Shawn standing at the door of the court house with his arms out wide. I run as fast at I can straight into them for the best hug ever.

He saved me from that terrible place. If he hadn't have told me about the trial then I never would have known and never would have gone. The judge would have never seen the bruises to know Ms. Sheafer beats us. Thanks to Shawn, I'm happy again.
