Shawn's POV: I haven't seen May in over four days. She's always busy at school then as soon as she gets home I'm rushed to my room and she's taken to hers.

Personally, I think Johnson is trying to hard to keep us apart. I really like her and I know I would never hurt her, if she was just allowed to give me a chance.

I have a plan though. In three days, on Thursday, it's Mays birthday. She'll finally be 17 and I have the perfect plan. I'm going to tell the guys I'm going to the studio, but I'm really gonna go to May and Hayes school and serenade her.

It's a little dorky, I know, but I'm dorky so it works. I wrote another song just for her and I'm finishing up now. I title the song and put it neatly in a folder labeled S.O.N.G.S. and threw the folder into my guitar case along with my fender.

"Shawn lunch is ready."

I'm so ready.

Mays POV:Three Days Later
Why dad. Why.

Why must he make me come to this school then keep me away from Shawn? I really like him and I doubt he would hurt me. I mean seriously, he's Canadian. He's too nice for that.

Other than the fact that I've only seen LA from my balcony and the school classroom windows, I'd say that I like it more than Nevada.

Today's finally my birthday and I can say that I'm 17. It doesn't feel as different as some people think it would but whatever.

Im just excited to finish my history lesson and go to lunch.

"Class do not forget that your big assignment on the importance of the rise of social media means to you. Have a nice lunch. Make history yours." My teacher, Mr. Reeves, finishes up the lesson a few minutes early giving me extra time to eat.

I go straight to the lunchroom to try and avoid any mean bratty girls trying to tear me down. Luckily, I make it there safely. Once I'm inside, I rush over to my saved seat beside Hayes.

I take a bite of my ham sandwich, when I'm interrupted.

"How's the birthday girl?" Hayes asks once he swallows his bite of Apple.

"Hungry." I respond and take a second bite. I observe the conversations around the table of hayes friends for a few minutes. Once I've finished my sandwich, music begins playing over the loudspeaker.

It's a simple guitar being strum too quietly to over mask the noise of the cafeteria, but too loud to go unnoticed.

After a few seconds, someone starts whistling a tune too the strumming. I turn to my right to see Hayes whistling. I nudge him in the side to get him to stop but immediately after, a voice joins the guitar.

Girls gasp and fall over onto each other. A few start to cry into their friends shoulders at the sight in the doorway. I'm at the disadvantage of being covered up by boys.

"I promise that one day I'll be around, I'll keep you safe I'll keep you sound.
I know it's pretty crazy, but I don't know how to stop or slow it down." I recognize the voice immediately. The guts this kid has to come to my school mid-day and sing a song to me. He's crazy. Crazy adorable.

I wrote a little poem down in a journal beside my bed last Sunday night, and Shawn insisted on making it into a song. Shawn Mendes, came to a highschool to sing my song to me. I repeat. He's crazy. When Shawngets to the chorus, I join in catching a few glares from Fangirls across the room.

"Take, a piece of my heart, and make it all your own. So when we are apart, you'll never be alone. Never be alone." My poem for English on Monday.

I stand up and begin to walk to the front of the cafeteria while continuing to sing our song. I hear Shawn's voice get louder and louder while I make my way through the crowd of day dreaming freshman girls.

I finally see him through the crowd and it's like Moses parted the sea. People made an isle for us to walk through. When I finally approached him, he finished up the last strum.

"Happy birthday May." Shawn whispers quiet enough for only me to hear.

"What are you doing here?  My dads gonna find out." I whisper back.

"I'm here to get you out of this hell hole some people like to call school. Come on." He grabs my hand in his and leads me outbid the crowd. I rest my head on his bicep as we walk straight out of the building. We never even signed out.

" Shawn I have to sign out." I tell him once we reach his little mustang.

"No because if you sign out then it goes on your record that you missed. You're technical still in school." He smirks and starts the car. I'm still standing outside staring at him. Holy shit. I've got myself a hot badass canadien boyfriend.

"Are you coming?" Shawn asks from inside the car. I laugh a little and jump over the door right into the seat.

"Where are we going?"

"I was thinking somewhere along the lines of the mall."
