After finishing the teachers' meeting, she sat down to check the students' papers. Most of the students had performed wonderfully, but there was one exception—Ahvi.
To give you some context, Ahvi is a student at the school where Arohi is a teacher. Today, Arohi was reviewing the history papers, and unfortunately, Ahvi's performance in history and SST (Social Science) was quite poor.
Arohi was a bit disappointed as she had hoped to see some improvement in Ahvi's work. She knew that Ahvi had been struggling with these subjects for a while, and it was evident from her answers that she hadn't grasped the concepts well.
Arohi sat at her desk, tapping her fingers thoughtfully on the table as she glanced at the list of students struggling with their history grades. Ahvi's name stood out. She decided it was time to have a conversation with her to understand the difficulties she was facing. Without wasting any time, she summoned one of the peons.
"Please go and call Ahvi to my office,"
Arohi instructed firmly, her voice calm yet authoritative.
The peon nodded and hurried off to fetch Ahvi, who was sitting in her classroom, lost in her thoughts.
When the peon relayed the message, Ahvi's heart skipped a beat. *Why would Arohi ma'am want to see me?* she wondered nervously.
Her mind raced through different scenarios. *Am I in trouble?* she thought. *Or maybe she's going to appreciate something I've done?*
With a mix of confusion and anxiety swirling inside her, Ahvi made her way to Arohi’s office.
As she stood outside the door, she took a deep breath, trying to steady her nerves.
*Whatever it is, I'll face it,* she resolved. When Ahvi finally stepped into the room, she saw Arohi looking up from her papers with a neutral expression. Ahvi’s stomach churned slightly.
Was this a good sign or a bad one? She stood silently, waiting for Arohi Mam to speak, unsure of what was coming next.
Arohi smiled gently as Ahvi stepped into the room, sensing her nervousness.
"Ahvi beta, idhar aao"
(Ahvi dear, come here),she said softly, gesturing for her to sit down. Ahvi hesitated for a second but quickly obeyed, sitting down on the chair in front of Arohi’s desk.
"Kya hua? Tumhari history ke marks itne kam kyun aa rahe hain?"
(What happened? Why are your history marks so low?)Arohi asked, her tone kind but concerned.
"Kya tumhe theory subject samajhne mein mushkil ho rahi hai?"
(Are you finding it difficult to understand this theory subject?)"Agar koi dikkat hai, bas mujhe batao. Main tumhari madad karungi."
" (If there’s any problem, just tell me. I will help you.)Ahvi bit her lip, feeling a little more at ease by Arohi’s warm approach. She looked down at her hands, fidgeting nervously.
"Ma’am... sach bolun toh, history ki theories samajhna thoda mushkil lag raha hai"
(Ma'am... to be honest, I'm finding it a bit difficult to understand the history theories)."Itne saare dates aur events yaad rakhna... wo kaafi confusing ho jata hai"
(Remembering so many dates and events... it gets quite confusing),
she admitted quietly.Arohi nodded, understanding the situation.
"Beta, aise pressure feel karne ki zarurat nahi hai"
(Dear, there's no need to feel pressured).
