The school leaving bell rang, and the corridors were soon filled with students and teachers, all eager to head home.
As usual, Naksh had come to pick up Ahvi. The moment she saw him, a wide smile spread across her face, and she rushed over to him.
"Chachu, aapko pata hai aaj kya hua?"
(Chachu , do you know what happened today?)
she exclaimed excitedly as she climbed into the car.
Naksh smiled, already knowing that his niece had a lot to share.
"Kya hua, Ahvi? Batao!"
(What happened, Ahvi? Tell me!)
he said, starting the car.
"Ma’am ne mujhe aaj bulaya tha, aur maine socha tha ke mujhe daant padegi! Par Arohi ma’am toh bohot sweet hain. Unhone sab kuch achhe se handle kiya, aur mummy se bhi baat kar li,"
(Ma’am called me today, and I thought I was going to get scolded! But Arohi ma’am is so sweet. She handled everything nicely and even spoke to mom)
Ahvi said, recounting her entire day with excitement.
As they drove home, Naksh listened patiently, nodding and laughing at the right moments.
"Wow, tumhare ma’am toh bohot achhi hain"
(Wow, your ma’am is really nice),
Naksh said, happy to hear that things were working out.
Halfway through their drive, Ahvi suddenly piped up,
"Chachu, mujhe ice cream chahiye!"
(Chachu , I want ice cream!)
Naksh chuckled and pulled over at an ice cream shop.
"Thik hai, jo tumhe chahiye, wo le lo"
(Alright, take whatever you want).
They both enjoyed their ice creams in the car, chatting about Ahvi’s day and other little things.
The car was filled with laughter and stories as they made their way back home.
By the time they arrived, both Naksh and Ahvi were still deep in conversation, enjoying each other’s company after a long day.
When Arohi arrived home, she mentioned to her mother that starting the next day, she would be attending extra tuition sessions at Ahvi’s house.
Her mother listened attentively and responded with a mixture of concern and encouragement.
“I’m glad you’re taking the initiative to improve your students,”
she said.
“However, please remember to come home on time. It worries me that you’ll be out late, especially since it's not always safe to be out after dark. Your safety is very important to me. So, make sure you stay aware of the time and come back home safely and early.”
After giving her advice, Arohi’s mother told her to freshen up and have her dinner. She smiled gently and added,
“Make sure you’re ready for bed soon after.”
Meanwhile, Ahvi’s mother was having a similar conversation with her. She reminded Ahvi,
“Tomorrow, your teacher is coming over for your extra tuition. It’s important to be attentive and focused during the lessons. Remember, just because she’s coming to our home doesn’t mean you can take it lightly or misbehave. Treat her with respect and make the most of the session. Your education is a priority, so make sure you’re always on your best behavior.”
Ahvi’s mother asked,
“By the way, what time did you schedule with your teacher? And I don’t think she knows our address.”
Ahvi replied,
“I told her I’m available after 6 p.m. because our school lets out at 5:00.”
Ahvi’s mother looked concerned.
“But how will she get here? You need to give her our address.”
Ahvi explained,
“Chachu is coming to pick me up. Arohi’s teacher will arrive around the same time, and she’ll come with us in the car.”
Devansh reminded Naksh ,
“Don’t forget to pick up Avhi’s teacher and drive safely tomorrow. Naksh has agreed to help out.”
After this, everyone enjoyed a peaceful dinner together, sharing a pleasant family moment.
As the evening came to a close, they all headed to bed, drifting off to sleep with the day’s events behind them.
