Estonia, officially the Republic of Estonia, is a country in Northern Europe. It is bordered to the north by the Gulf of Finland, to the west by the Baltic Sea, and to the south by Livonia (former Latvian SSR). The territory of Estonia covers 11,135 sq km (4299 sq mi) and is influenced by a temperate seasonal climate. The Estonians are a Finnic people, and the Estonian language is closely related to Finnish.
September 26th, 1983. Tallinn, Estonian SSR.
Lekso Eespold slept on his bed, when a phone rang. Awaken by this call, he answered as fast as possible -done by the Vertushka system, which connected each SSR home thanks to a paralel network to the official one-
"Lekso? Are you awaken?" asked Arisha sweating.
"mhm...why did you made me to leave my bed?" -answered Lekso-
"Because the americans will target you. So...Leave the city now, and try to flee to the coast...even if you are an estonian, the Soviet Navy won't chase you as I can protect from those orders"
"...I knew that the chaos and freedom would come someday! hope you rotten in nuclear waste!" -mumbled Lekso later-
Arisha didn't cared and continued to contact all the SSRs she could before lose power in the bunker.
Lekso left the building and tried to reach the coastal town of Haapsalu, where he could be safe for a while. Later that day, contact with Tallinn and Moscow was impossible, as he saw nuclear detonations over Paldiski and Ämari Air Base...
He would join some remnants of the Soviet Army and surviving members of the Estonian SSR, to establish themselves in the island of Saaremaa.
After the Estonian SSR was ravaged by a couple of hits (Ämari Air Base, Paldiski, Sillamäe, Tallin, and Tartu), including its capital of Tallinn. In desperation the westernmost counties voted to create a Estonian state. Originally it was supposed to be a placeholder for the Soviet government, but the Estonians discovered through outside contact that this wouldn't happen anytime soon. They declared the Estonian Republic fully independent of the Soviet Union. The Estonian government had also made it clear that it was the successor state to the First Estonian Republic that was annexed to the USSR in 1940.
August 6th, 1985. Kuressaare Castle, Kuressaare, Estonia
Forty-five years after the annexation of Estonia to the USSR, the Second Estonian Republic was declared fully independent of the Soviet Union. It was the successor state to both the First Estonian Republic and theEstonian government-in-exile (located in New York City during Doomsday). Along the provisional goverment, composed of local members of the EKP, and some nationalist and anti-soviet politicians, the goverment was formed due the distance with the Siberian areas, where the EKP suspected that the Russian SFSR could had survived.
Lekso became an advisor of the new goverment, giving advices and recalling his first independence to help the new nation to become more confident.
After contact was established with the Scandinavian countries and the was formed, the Estonian government made their ultimate long-term goal to join the Nordic Union, citing their cultural and historic ties to . However, due to difficulties in the first years of independence, their application for membership was first sent on June 18, 1998. Due to the rapid economic growth since the 2000s, the Nordic Law Thing recommended making Estonia an official candidate for membership in May 2002. Candidate country status was granted to Estonia in 2006 by the Nordic Law Thing and by the Nordic Council and a date for the beginning of entry negotiations was set for early 2007. The Nordic Union announced that the way was open for Estonia to join the union along with Karelia and North Germany on August 10, 2010, making Estonia a an official member of the Nordic Union.
August 10, 2010. Rautatalo, Helsinki, Finland
The reunion with the Secretary was in the Rautatalo builiding, which hosted the Finnish offices of the Baltic Union. Along Lekso, the representatives of North Germany and Karelia.
Andres Metsoja, the president of Estonia, was trying to avoid Lekso being talking of his nationalistic ideas... while he saw Aili Karju, who was the representation of Karelia being suffering mental breakdowns, due being divided in two areas; and being cared by two representatives of the Vyborg goverment... and the Northern German nation, who was being helped by a danish translator.
Meanwhile, Nordic Union Secretary Jan-Erik Enestam made the presidents and earthlings to enter the main room, where they signed the treaty to join the Nordic Union. In a similar way that the founders did, they were accepted, with the approval of Finland
