Anchored In Storm

Stillness.
A body mute, nerves asleep.
Months of silence in the flesh.

A twitch— Imagination or real?
Whisper in deadened limbs.

Tingling grows,
Pins and needles awaken.
Warmth spreads, ice cracks.

Sensation floods,
Touch, pressure, heat explode.
Body relearns its forgotten song.

Tears fall, tasted!
Each droplet a miracle.
Universe rushes in, wild and raw.

In this tide of feeling,
Unmade and reborn.
No longer adrift, anchored in storm.
