Yuvraj’s steps quickened, his breath shallow as he moved past groups of guests, he just wants to end it quickly to go back to his Jaan. He found his father near the main hall, surrounded by a few business associates. The moment their eyes met, Yuvraj could see the urgency on his father’s face.

"Yuvraj, acha hua mujhe tum mil gye" his father began, not wasting a moment. "We have a situation. One of our factory in Singapore has had an emergency, it's on a fire. You need to leave immediately, handle it personally and find out what went wrong suddenly"

"Now?" Yuvraj's mind was still half-distracted. "But the reception…"

"There’s no time," his father’s voice was firm. "I need you to be there. We’re losing millions by the hour."

" Dad calm down , I’ll find kritika and tell her I’m leaving" Yuvraj muttered, already taking a step back.

"Yuvraj" his father called after him, "no delays. Leave now , I'll inform her on your behalf. You can talk to her later"

But he couldn’t leave without seeing her. He needed to see her. For the past few days, she had become his peace, his calm in the chaos. Without her, something felt incomplete. He was used to her presence, her soft voice, the way her eyes always found his, reassuring him silently.

" Aap car ready karae mein aata hun" he said before walking away from him , ignoring his every call like nothing matter to him right now
He moved quickly, checking every part of the palace—the hallways, the terrace, even the garden. She had to be somewhere.

Laughter and conversations filled the hall, but Yuvraj’s mind was elsewhere, now it felt too noisy to him. He moved swiftly through the crowd, his eyes scanning every corner, looking for only one person, his sukun.

Yuvraj had felt a strange unease building within him. He imagined her standing shyly at some corner of the party, her golden semery saree shimmering under the lights. He could almost picture the anklet he had gifted her, glinting as she stood, nervously fidgeting. But despite how desperately he searched, Kritika was nowhere to be found.

After several agonizing minutes, he ran into Akki ,he stood near the exit, smiling sweetly while talking on phone .

"Akki" Yuvraj called out, his frustration evident "Have you seen Kritika? I’ve been looking for her everywhere"

Akki turned to him in shock putting his hand on his heart at his brother's sudden appearance but looking at his face he hang up the call and look at his brother's condition" Bhai what happened? Wasn't she with you only ? I didn't saw her " he said frowning and yuvraj groaned in frustration, running hand through his hairs

"Kritika left, She had to leave urgently" a voice come from behind yuvraj and they both turned to it , finding anu standing there looking calm ,they didn't noticed her there before but yuvraj wasn't in sane condition to ask her what she's doing here

Yuvraj froze hearing her "What do you mean, she left?"

"I’m not sure why, but she seemed be in a hurry" Anu continued, her eyes avoiding his gaze "She didn’t tell you about it? I thought she informed you already. How can she just… left"

Yuvraj’s heart sank. Left? Without telling him? It didn’t seem like her at all. They had been so close over the past few days. She wouldn’t leave without saying goodbye, would she? His mind reeled, trying to make sense of it, but nothing fit.

His hand instinctively went to his pocket, where the small velvet box had been hidden. He had planned to give it to her before she left. A token of his commitment, something to reassure her of how serious he was about them. And now, it felt like it didn’t matter.
