*5 Years Later*

The grand exhibition hall was filled with art lovers, critics, and collectors admiring the paintings on display. Each artwork told a story—of love, pain, growth, and resilience. But the centerpiece of the exhibition, the most captivating painting of all, was the one Kritika stood in front of, silently watching as people admired it

It was a breathtaking piece...a journey frozen in time. The painting showed a man and a woman standing in the rain, their foreheads touching, their hands entwined. Behind them, blurred figures faded into the background, symbolizing the world they had fought against. And at their feet, a delicate pair of anklets gleamed, the same anklets that had once been a lifeline. The strokes of the brush whispered a story of struggle, defiance, and an unbreakable bond

A woman stopped beside Kritika, gazing at the painting with admiration "This is incredible," she said, her voice filled with awe as she continued "The depth, the emotion… It feels like the artist has lived this journey. There’s so much love in this piece"

Kritika smiled softly but said nothing. She had never revealed her face to the public, allowing her paintings to speak for her. It was Yuvraj who had encouraged her to show her art to world but she wanted to be in the shadows, protecting her identity while making sure the world appreciated her art and he supported and respected her decision

Just then, her phone vibrated in her hand

Hubby calling…

She picked up, her heart already fluttering

"I'm outside, jaan" his deep voice rumbled through the phone

Kritika turned to the woman beside her "Thank you for your kind words," she said politely before walking away

As soon as she stepped outside, the cold winter air nipped at her skin, but nothing compared to the warmth spreading in her chest when she saw Yuvraj. He stood beside his sleek black car, exuding effortless charm in a tailored coat, his sharp jawline even more defined under the dim streetlights. The moment he spotted her, a slow, knowing smirk curled on his lips

"There’s my beautiful wife" he murmured, striding toward her with purpose

Before she could react, he pulled her into a tight embrace, his arms strong and protective around her "I missed you, meri Jaan" he whispered against her ear

Kritika blushed "Yuvraj, we met just this morning," she said shyly

He pulled back slightly, tilting her chin up so their eyes met "You don’t understand how annoying my office is without you. I miss you extra, Mrs. Kritika Yuvraj Singh Rajput"

She giggled at his exaggerated pout before he opened the car door for her, making sure she was warm before driving off

On the way home, she excitedly told him about the exhibition, how people reacted to her paintings, and how much she loved seeing strangers connect with their journey without even knowing it was hers. Yuvraj listened intently, nodding at the right moments, but his gaze kept flickering to her, drinking in every little expression she made

As they pulled into the driveway of their mansion, the moment they stepped inside, a tiny bundle of energy came running toward them

"Mamma...Papa..."

Their two-year-old daughter, Yuvika, toddled toward them with her tiny arms raised. Yuvraj quickly bent down and scooped her up before she could stumble

"Careful, my little princess" he murmured, pressing a kiss to her chubby cheeks and she giggled feeling ticklish cause of his beard

Kritika smiled as she rubbed their daughter’s back lovingly. Yuvika had Yuvraj’s sharp features but Kritika’s soft eyes, making her a perfect blend of them both

They walked into the living room, where the entire family was gathered, chatting happily. After spending some time together, dinner was served, and Kritika couldn’t help but feel overwhelmed with love

Seven years ago, she had never imagined this...a home filled with warmth, laughter, and people who cherished her

After dinner, once Yuvika was fast asleep in her room, Yuvraj led Kritika to their bedroom

The door barely clicked shut before he pulled her into his arms, his dark eyes filled with a familiar heat

"You looked so damn beautiful tonight jaan,do you know that?" he murmured, tracing her jaw with his fingers, "But do you know what’s even more beautiful?"

Kritika swallowed, her heartbeat accelerating "W-what?"

He leaned in, his lips brushing against hers "The way you look at me jaan...that innocence is enough to ruin my self control "

Her breath hitched as he slowly walked her backward until her back hit the bed. His hands skimmed down her sides, making her shiver

"You are driving me crazy, jaan" he whispered, pushing a strand of hair behind her ear

Her breathes hitched feeling his lips " y..yuvraj..."

"Hmm?" He smirked, gaze flickered to her lips, his fingers lightly tracing the exposed skin above her blouse , " do you know how unfair it is to look this breathtaking and expect me to just behave "

" Y..Yuvraj, our daughter is in next room..." Her cheeks burned from their proximity

" And she's fast asleep meri jaan, which means you are finally all mine jaan" Yuvraj exhaled sharply before cupping her face, his thumb brushing against her lower lip, "You have no idea what you do to me, jaan" he growled before capturing her lips in a deep, soul-searing kiss

Kritika melted into him, her hands tangling in his hair as he deepened the kiss, his touch setting her skin on fire. He took his time, worshipping every inch of her like he had all the time in the world

As the night stretched on, they got lost in each other....whispers turning into sighs, kisses turning into moans, and love turning into something far more consuming

Long after they lay tangled in the sheets, his arm possessively around her waist, Yuvraj pressed a kiss to her forehead "No matter how many years pass, I’ll always be selfish for you, jaan"

Kritika smiled sleepily, nuzzling into his warmth "And I’ll always belong to you, Yuvi"

With that, they drifted into sleep, wrapped in love, passion, and a lifetime of promises.

The End
