As Yuvraj descended the stairs with Kritika’s hand in his, he could feel the tension building. Her father stood at the bottom, his face twisted with fury, realizing what was about to happen. There was no way he would let this wedding take placeYuvraj’s eyes locked onto Kritika’s father, and without a word, he guided her to the mandap. The priest, still shaken from the earlier events, stood uncertain, glancing nervously between Yuvraj and Kritika’s father
"We’ll finish this" Yuvraj said in a commanding voice, his eyes never leaving her father’s , "You wanted a wedding, and now you’ll witness the one that’s meant to happen"
Kritika’s father clenched his fists "You think I’ll let you marry her? Over my dead body" her father roared, stepping forward as if to block their path
Yuvraj’s jaw tightened. He wasn’t going to let anyone stop them...not now. His grip on Kritika’s hand tightened as he took a step forward, his voice steady but dangerously low "You’ve already done enough damage, don't force me to do something worse"
" How dare you" her father shouted and lunged toward them, his eyes blazing with defiance. But before he could take another step, Yuvraj moved swiftly. In one fluid motion, he reached for the gun tucked in his waistband, pulling it out with precision.
The sound of the gunshot echoed through the room
Kritika’s father gasped, falling to the ground, clutching his leg where the bullet had struck. Blood seeped through his fingers, and the shock on his face was unmistakable. The room fell into stunned silence as everyone realized what had just happened
" Don't even think that it was accidental, not at all , we just need you for Kanya daan otherwise i would have shown you my shooting skills but don't worry we have enough time for that... for now let's focus on this" his tone low and cold like ice, enough to freeze anyone's spine
Yuvraj’s eyes were cold, unwavering. He didn’t flinch, his focus entirely on Kritika and the vows they were about to take "No one" he said in a low, menacing voice, "will stop this"
"Yuvi" kritika grasped, looking at him in shock
" Nothing happened jaan , don't worry, it was needed" yuvraj caressed her cheeks, his eyes again softening
Kritika, still shaking from everything, looked at Yuvraj with wide eyes, but she didn’t resist. She knew that this was the only way to free herself from the nightmare her father had created
With the priest too scared to protest , he started chanting holy mantras, still trembling from the earlier events, hesitated for a moment before announcing, "It’s time for Kanya Daan"
The air in the room was thick with tension. All eyes turned to Kritika’s father, who lay on the floor, wincing in pain, his leg bleeding from where Yuvraj had shot him. He looked defeated, but his pride still flickered in his eyes. He would never willingly give his daughter away....especially not to Yuvraj
Yuvraj, sensing the hesitation, tightened his grip on Kritika’s hand and calmly reached for his gun once more. His eyes were sharp, his expression cold, but his voice carried the weight of all the emotions he had bottled up....his frustration, anger, and love for Kritika. He raised the gun, pointing it directly at her father.
"Kanya Daan" Yuvraj said, his voice low and commanding, "is done by the father, isn’t it? You wanted this wedding, and now you’re going to see it through"
Kritika’s father glared at Yuvraj, but the fear was unmistakable. His pride clashed with the realization that he was no longer in control. The room was deathly quiet, the only sound being the crackling of the holy fire in the mandap. Kritika, standing beside Yuvraj, clutched his arm, her emotions swirling...fear, confusion, disbelief, and a faint hope that this nightmare would finally end
