15 HOURS AFTER NORA BLACK-POTTER DIED.

Her body was constantly on his mind, still awake as he didn't know where else to go than telling his best friends in the world, to tell his brother in law that his sister is dead.

Tom riddle killed Nora, and James sat there lifelessly, his eyes hurting to blink as they were red as a vein was practically popping out of his forehead. He was numb, mute, his throat hurting from the blood curdling screams he did when he saw his wives dead body aparate out of thin air, wondering how she was even able to aparate like that.

James knew she was a fan of the dark arts, but this took things to a whole other level. He couldn't even visit the fact his house was destroyed, hearing the faint yells of Sirius, screaming in his flat.

"Fuck off! She's not dead!" Sirius yelled at James, the boy sitting there with nothing to say. "Sirius please, she wouldn't want you to react like this." Remus choked out, James watching his best friends have different reactions.

"You're talking like she's dead! Shes not moony! She was here two days ago to give us cookies. Suddenly she's gone?!" Sirius roared, Remus looking at James, the boys face filled of tears that were even fogging up his glasses.

"She gave you cookies?" James asked, looking up at his friends, Sirius nodding, aggressively wiping his eyes. "We weren't home, she left them on the doorstep. We knew it was her cause the wrapping was green with a bow." Remus said, James trying to not violently cry at that.

He now knew why she was in the kitchen for that long.

"So now what? You and the kids are gonna stay in that cottage?" Asked Sirius, James wondering how he knew about the cottage.

"Mother showed me that cottage years ago, said that was where she'd put me if I didn't listen again. Clearly things changed when Harry became the prophecy." Sirius said, James shaking his head.

"So she always planned on dying?" Remus asked the two, James looking at Sirius. "Ever since she betrayed the death eaters, fell in love with me and wanted out after regulus. Yes Sirius she was a death eater, she pretend like she wasn't but she was." James said, Sirius staring blank at James.

"Did she have the mark?"

"No, but regulus did." Remus said, the two looking at him. "For a while he wasn't very good at hiding it. Evan or Nora told him to cover it up at school. That's when she asked me where I get the makeup to hide some of my scars. I connected the dots pretty quick."

She was always a mysterious person, but this was making James' head hurt a little. "So you're telling me, my sister has been a death eater and she lied to me?! She lied to me for what—"

"To fucking protect you! She joined to protect anyone but herself. She risked her life to face that coward and degrade her because he had the power to. My wife is dead because of him." James yelled back, the two getting mad for the wrong reasons.

"It doesn't matter what she was doing, it was working until it wasn't. She protected the kids, she protected James— fuck she even protected Lily and now she can work back at Hogwarts. Atticus and Betty are safe and we can remember Nora did it all for us." Remus breathed out, James going back and forth.

Hearing a knock on the door, James opened it to see Atticus standing there, looking up at him. "She's gone isn't she?" He asked, James wondering how he knew.

"She's fucking gone isn't she?!" He yelled, slamming the door open to see that she wasn't here, his wand in his hand. "They got to her Atticus." James told him, the boy shaking his head, looking at Sirius and Remus.
