The night had grown quiet, with only the faint crackling of the dying embers from the bonfire breaking the silence. Most of the guests had gone home, and the Kim household was settling back into its peaceful routine. Seokjin and Yoongi found themselves alone on the patio, the stars twinkling overhead as they took in the serene evening.
Seokjin leaned back in his lounge chair, his arm draped over Yoongi’s shoulders. The soft hum of cicadas filled the air, adding a touch of tranquility to the moment. Yoongi, nestled comfortably beside him, looked relaxed and content, a soft smile playing on his lips.
“So,” Seokjin began, breaking the comfortable silence, “what do you think of my family now that you’ve had the chance to meet everyone properly?”
Yoongi chuckled softly, his fingers lightly tracing patterns on Seokjin’s arm. “They’re… interesting. I can see where you get your charm from. And Taehyung is definitely something else. I’m still not sure if he’s just really creative or if he actually believed I was a ghost.”
Seokjin laughed, his eyes crinkling with amusement. “Oh, he’s definitely both. I’m just glad he’s finally moved on from his ghost theories. It’s been quite a ride, hasn’t it?”
Yoongi nodded, his gaze thoughtful. “Yeah, it has. But honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way. It’s been... memorable. And I’m glad to have been a part of it, especially to have met your family.”
Seokjin’s heart swelled with affection. He turned to face Yoongi, taking his hand in his. “I’m glad you’re here too. You know, despite all the craziness, I’ve been thinking a lot about us lately. About what’s next.”
Yoongi tilted his head slightly, his eyes searching Seokjin’s face. “What do you mean?”
Seokjin took a deep breath, his expression serious but warm. “I mean, we’ve been together for a while now, and I can’t help but think about the future. What do we want to do? Where do we see ourselves in a few years?”
Yoongi’s eyes softened as he squeezed Seokjin’s hand gently. “I’ve been thinking about that too. I love being with you, and I want to make sure that we build something together. I guess I’ve always been a bit of a dreamer, but I want those dreams to include you.”
Seokjin’s heart fluttered. “That’s exactly what I want. I want us to have a future together, to make plans and build a life. Whether that means traveling, starting a family, or just growing old together... I want to do it all with you.”
Yoongi’s smile grew, and he leaned in to kiss Seokjin softly. The kiss was tender and filled with unspoken promises, a perfect reflection of their deepening connection.
When they finally pulled away, Yoongi’s eyes were filled with affection. “I want that too, Seokjin. I know there will be challenges, but as long as we’re together, I’m ready to face them.”
Seokjin’s heart felt lighter than it had in a long time. “You know, I never thought I’d find someone like you. You’ve brought so much joy into my life, even amidst all the chaos.”
Yoongi chuckled softly, his eyes sparkling with mischief. “And you’ve brought a lot of excitement into mine. Who knew that a ghost hunt would lead to such a wonderful relationship?”
Seokjin grinned, his gaze tender. “You’re not a ghost, Yoongi. You’re very real and very much loved.”
The two shared a comfortable silence, enjoying the closeness of each other’s presence. As they lay back on the lounge chairs, their hands still intertwined, they began to talk about their hopes and dreams for the future. They discussed their ideal home, the places they wanted to visit, and the simple joys they looked forward to sharing.
Seokjin’s thoughts drifted to the practicalities of their future. “Have you ever thought about where you’d like to live? Or what kind of home you’d want?”
Yoongi pondered for a moment before replying. “I think I’d like something cozy, with a garden. Somewhere we can have lazy mornings and enjoy the outdoors. But as long as I’m with you, I’m sure I’ll be happy anywhere.”
Seokjin nodded in agreement. “A cozy home sounds perfect. And I’ve always dreamed of having a space where we can entertain friends and family, a place that feels like our own little sanctuary.”
They continued to dream and plan, their conversation interspersed with laughter and playful teasing. As the night wore on, their discussions grew quieter and more intimate, eventually leading them inside.
The warmth of the house contrasted with the cool night air outside, and as they settled into the soft glow of the living room, Seokjin and Yoongi’s closeness became even more apparent. They shared a deep, passionate kiss that spoke volumes about their feelings for each other.
In that moment, it was clear that their future together was bright and filled with potential. They had overcome the quirks and challenges of their relationship, and now they were ready to embrace whatever came next—together.
