The day after Taehyung’s spectacularly failed ghost prank, the atmosphere at the Kim mansion was one of uneasy calm. Seokjin and Yoongi shared a quiet breakfast, but the tension from the previous night’s shenanigans lingered. Taehyung had been unusually quiet, leaving Seokjin with a feeling that a confrontation was looming.
Seokjin decided it was time to address the elephant in the room. He glanced over at Yoongi, who was sipping his coffee with a thoughtful expression. “I think we need to have a talk with Taehyung.”
Yoongi nodded, his eyes twinkling with understanding. “I agree. He’s been quite fixated on proving I’m a ghost.”
Later that afternoon, Seokjin found Taehyung sprawled out on the couch in the living room, absorbed in his phone. The mischievous glint in Taehyung’s eyes had dimmed a little, but he still looked as if he were waiting for something. Seokjin took a deep breath and approached him.
“Taehyung, we need to talk,” Seokjin began, his voice calm but firm. “About this whole ‘ghost’ thing.”
Taehyung looked up, feigning innocence. “Oh? What about it?”
Seokjin sat down next to him, crossing his arms. “You’ve been going to great lengths to prove Yoongi’s not... normal. It’s causing unnecessary tension. I think it’s time for an explanation.”
Taehyung shifted uncomfortably. “I just... I don’t get it. Yoongi’s presence is so unusual, and the things that happened, the floating candles, the disappearing act—it all seems so... strange.”
Seokjin’s expression softened. “Taehyung, Yoongi isn’t a ghost. I know he’s a bit of an enigma, but he’s real. I’m sure you have questions, and I think it’s time you get some answers.”
At that moment, Yoongi entered the room, holding a book in his hand. He saw the serious expressions on Seokjin and Taehyung’s faces and took a seat across from them. “So, it looks like the time has come for some clarifications.”
Taehyung’s eyes widened with curiosity and a hint of apprehension. “Alright, Yoongi. Explain to me what’s going on. Why all the weirdness?”
Yoongi took a deep breath, clearly prepared for this conversation. “I understand why you’re skeptical. There’s been a lot of strange coincidences and unexplained occurrences, but let me clear things up.”
Taehyung leaned forward, his attention fixed on Yoongi. “Go ahead.”
“Well,” Yoongi began, “I do have a few quirks that might seem unusual. For example, I’ve always had an affinity for the supernatural—like, I’m fascinated by it. When I was younger, I even dabbled in some amateur magic tricks and illusions. Some of what you’ve seen could be attributed to that, though I assure you, there’s nothing supernatural about me.”
Taehyung looked skeptical. “So the floating candles and the disappearing act were just... tricks?”
Yoongi nodded. “Yes, but not in a ghostly way. I’m skilled at manipulating objects in ways that might seem magical. As for the disappearing act, there were times when I had to leave abruptly because of personal reasons. I didn’t want to explain everything in detail as it might have added to the confusion.”
Seokjin placed a reassuring hand on Taehyung’s shoulder. “Yoongi is very talented, and he’s not trying to deceive anyone. The odd occurrences were just coincidences mixed with his unique skills.”
Taehyung’s eyes softened as he absorbed the explanation. “So, all this time, I’ve been chasing ghosts, literally?”
Yoongi chuckled, the sound warm and genuine. “In a way. I never meant to give you the wrong impression. I’m sorry for any confusion.”
Taehyung sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. “I guess I’ve been a bit too obsessed with proving something that wasn’t true. I’m really sorry, Yoongi.”
Yoongi smiled. “No need to apologize. I understand that it’s hard to trust something that seems out of the ordinary. Besides, your curiosity was kind of flattering.”
Seokjin grinned, relieved to see the tension easing. “Looks like we’ve cleared up the ghost mystery. How about we focus on getting to know each other better? Taehyung, I’m sure you’ll find that Yoongi’s quirks are what make him special, not ghostly.”
Taehyung nodded, a smile slowly forming on his face. “Yeah, I can see that now. I guess I’ve been so focused on the strange stuff that I missed how great Yoongi is.”
Yoongi reached out and patted Taehyung’s back. “Thanks for giving me a chance. I promise, no more ghostly antics.”
As the three of them settled into a more relaxed conversation, the atmosphere lightened. Seokjin watched with a sense of satisfaction as the brothers began to bond, their earlier tension giving way to genuine camaraderie.
The day ended with a renewed sense of understanding and acceptance. Taehyung, having come to terms with Yoongi’s true nature, was ready to embrace his brother’s boyfriend for who he really was. And Yoongi, for his part, was glad to have cleared the air and finally feel like a part of the family without any supernatural suspicions hanging over him.
