When Perdita had awoken they had expected something crazy to happen, it was the day they had to present their project on The Strangling Seven to everyone so something was bound to happen.
Something unexpected and wild.
But... nothing did happen, they just presented what they'd found on Bayern, watched as their teammates did the same, and then sat down and watched other groups go.
Normally something wild happened, but nothing did, it was... weird and not at all comforting despite everything having gone well.
All their other classes went well too, Jagger didn't even try and approach her, making Aki look slightly weird by hanging around Perdita from the shadows.
Everything was normal until the end of the day when the science teacher Mrs. Malarkey made an announcement that shouldn't have been so shocking considering this happened every year.
"Alright brats, before you leave I have an announcement" Mrs. Malarkey said halting everyone in their tracks

"I'm sure those of you with brains already know this, but the day before summer break The Summer Dance will be hosted. So go prepare because if you brats wreak it, I'm not going to be the one in trouble."
Perdita rolled her eyes at the threat, honestly it wasn't that big in terms of threatening. Yeah it was vague, but unlike on Reamose, there wasn't anything serious that Mrs. Malarkey could do if she wanted to keep her job.
The Summer Dance on the other hand, was a different story.
Perdita had gone to it once, but only because Aarav's date had ditched him, and she had come to be a listening ear, but besides that she wasn't all that big on parties or celebrations.
Back on Reamose, Perdita had always gone to festivals out of formality, but she never really enjoyed them.
Mara had always made it a lot more fun than it normally would've been, but Mara was dead... all of them were, and only Perdita and K knew of their deaths.
Either way Perdita doubted she'd really be going unless Aarav found another date that would stand him up, but unfortunately for her, a certain someone had other plans.
"So Perdita, you have anyone going to The Summer Dance with you?" Juliana asked
"No, I don't really care to be honest"
"Well, how about I'll be your da-partner? People like us need to stick together, y'know?"
"Uh huh, but I'm sure there are plenty of guys willing to line up to go with you to The Summer Dance."
Juliana chuckled, "they are until Jagger beats the shit out of them, then they run off"
