Tony Stark x Reader

Part 3

"Tony!" I screamed from my bedroom, standing atop my chest of drawers and leaning against the wall for support. Immediately, Tony came rushing in, Nat, Thor and Steve following close behind. They all stood at the door, panicked expression covering all their faces as they stared up at me "Tonyyyy help meeeee!" I squeal, still cowering on top of my drawers.

He couldn't help but laugh upon seeing me, but attempted to suppress his amusement simply to speak "what's going on? Are you okay?"

"There's a spider" I squeak, pointing to my bed "it went under there and it was huge!" For a minute, all four of them paused, exchanging concerned glances before all bursting out into chaotic laughter "it's not funnyyyyy, can someone please kill it" I beg, almost falling off my chest of drawers, but luckily keeping myself up there.

"Okay, okay, Steve, you get the spider... I'll get Katie" Tony says, still trying to calm his laughter and they all walked into the room. Steve dropped to the floor to look under my bed and found the spider, cupping it into his hands so that it wouldn't escape.

"Nat, can you get the window for me?" Steve asks, walking over to the window and waiting patiently. Nat finally walks over and opens the window, Steve let's the spider crawl out before quickly closing the window and turning back around only to see Tony holding me bridal style in his arms, carrying me out of the room as I tightly had my arms wrapped around his neck, clinging on.

"Get a room you two" Nat jokes.

Tony ignores her comment though and looks down at me as he places me gently down on the floor "well, you know the drill, I'll get someone to search the whole building and get rid of all the spiders, you'll have to sleep somewhere else for now in case there's eggs in your room"

"That seems a bit dramatic for a tiny little bug, doesn't it?" Thor asks, curious.

"It's not a tiny bug! It's evil!" I exclaim dramatically.

"Right. Well, I have to get going, I've got things to do, I'll catch up with you guys later" Steve smiles, waving us all goodbye before leaving the tower.

"I should get going too, I've got a mission in Monticello, so I won't be back for a few days" Nat adds, giving me a very quick smile goodbye before leaving.

"Well if it's just gonna be us three I might as well head back to Asgard, it's vulnerable with all the rebuilding, so I too will be back in a few days, perhaps a little longer" Thor says, turning to me "it's been a pleasure spending time with you, lady Katie, I hope to see you again soon so I can beat you at this Twister you speak of"

I let out an amused laugh and give him a hug "I'll see you soon, Thor. Don't go getting into any trouble whilst you're gone" I pull away and smile, watching as he leaves before turning back to talk to Tony, but he wasn't there. With a sigh, I instantly begin heading down to Tony's lab in search of him, knowing that he'd probably be tinkering with his suits, and, well, when I got down there that was exactly what he was doing. AC/DC's Back in Black was playing and I had to fight the urge to sing along as I entered the room, wanting to try and sneak up on him. Slowly, I crept up behind him but before I could do anything he spoke up.

"Katie, I know you're there" he says, spinning on his chair to face me.

With a pout, I lean on his desk "not fair, how did you know? I tried so hard this time"

"Why are you down here anyway? I thought you were hanging out with Thor"

"Nope. He left too, it's just the two of us this week" I smile, looking down at what he was working on "you should increase the capacity by about 20% and switch out the palladium for a titanium-aluminium-vanadium alloy, that should make it function better, and hopefully make it a little more flexible"
