The next morning, when I woke, I realised that I was holding Tony's hand and had pulled his arm around me. I released my grip and rolled over to check the time, seeing that it was already midday "oh shit" I mutter, wanting to climb out of bed and be productive, but simply not having the energy.
"Is everything okay?" Tony asks. I hadn't realised he was awake.
"Yeah, it's just already midday, I'm really late for work"
"Work?" He immediately sits up "no way, you're taking the week off. It's my company, I'm technically your boss, you have to listen to me" he insists and I simply laugh.
"Okay, I'll take the week off, but that place will fall apart without me, I hope you're prepared for that"
"They'll be fine" he smirks, laying back down.
"I'm just gonna quickly go grab a drink, do you want anything?" I ask, climbing out of bed. Tony simply shakes his head, already half asleep, so I just leave him to it and head into the kitchen, making myself a glass of water. "Hey, Jarvis. Can I ask you something?"
"Of course, miss, you can ask me anything" he replies.
"Has Tony been okay, whilst I've been gone?"
"Can you explain what you mean by okay?"
"Like, has he been acting differently at all, or did he seem strange? What's he been doing whilst I was gone?"
"I don't think I can explain that very well for you, but if you'd like, I can show you footage of everything he's been doing since the day you went missing?" Jarvis offers, and I quickly accept. On the tv in the living room, just across from the kitchen, Tony appeared on the screen. I recognised it at the morning he made me pancakes and I had to rush off to get to work. Tony seemed really cheerful for some reason, and I never asked him why.
"What's he doing?"
"I believe that he was making dinner reservations" Jarvis answers.
"For who?"
"For you, miss"
"Me?" I continued watching the sped up footage. For the rest of the day, Tony had the happiest look on his face, he was rushing around, rummaging through his wardrobe for a nice outfit, going out and returning again with a gift box, talking to Happy. "Why did he make dinner reservations for me?"
"I believe he was planning on asking you on a date"
I was stunned. Finally, it reached the time in the day when I should've been home from work but wasn't. Tony began pacing around, growing increasingly more frustrated, but that quickly turned to worry. After what I assume was an hour of doing this, he started calling someone, over and over again but they never picked up. It must have been me he was calling, but I was unconscious, I couldn't have answered, not that he knew that. Jarvis then showed me the footage of the next day, for the entire day he hid out in his lab, typing away on his computer, speaking to Jarvis, calling my phone again. The same thing happened the next day, then again on the third day, but on the third day Steve was there. It looked like he was trying to help but Tony kept arguing with him. Then on the fourth day, the two were working together to find you, but on the fifth and final day, Steve had gone out, and Tony had passed out at his computer from lack of sleep, then the phone rang and the footage ended.
"Thank you, Jarvis. That was really helpful, can you, umm, call Steve and let him know that I'm alright. If he already knows then you don't have to"
"Of course, miss, is there anything else?"
"No, that's fine, thank you". I head back into my room and look over at Tony who's sleeping, sitting down beside him and shaking him lightly.
When he wakes, his eyes open and peer up at me "Katie? What's wrong?"
