Tony Stark x Reader

Part 8

"Welcome to Asgard" another voice says, immediately grabbing my attention. He was clad in golden armour and held a large sword by his side.

"Jane, Katie, this is Heimdall. Heimdall, where is my mother?" Thor demands answers, and immediately gets them. The three of us head over the gorgeous rainbow bridge towards a gargantuan golden palace, rushing inside to meet with Thor's mother. Jane was rushed off into another room, placed onto a table and surrounded by at least five women. Thor and myself follow after and observe as his mother starts bringing up scans of Jane's body, but they weren't like the scientific scans we had back on earth, these were magic and somehow much more intriguing.

"My words are mere noises to you that you ignore them completely?" A man's voice echoed through the room. I turned only to see a much older man, also clad in gold, but missing an eye.

"She is ill" Thor explains.

"She is mortal. Illness is their defining trait. And what of this other one? She is not ill, as you say"

"I brought them here because we can help Jane, and Katie is one of the finest scientists of Earth"

"They do not belong here in Asgard any more than a goat belongs at a banquet table" the older man says, quite rudely if I may add.

"Did he just- who do you think you are?" Jane questions, obviously offended.

"I am Odin, King of Asgard. Protector of the nine realms" the man explains, his face blank the entire time.

"Oh, well I'm-" Jane starts but is interrupted once again by Odin.

"I know very well who you are, Jane Foster"

Immediately I bow down "your majesty, it is an honour to meet you, I am very sorry to intrude, we only wished for some answers"

"Of course, you must be Katie, I've heard a lot of you as well"

"Something is within her, father" Thor starts "something I have not seen b-"

"Her world has its healers. They are called Doctors, let them deal with it"

"With all due respect, your majesty, Earth has never seen something like this before" I add, but it made little difference as the King immediately ordered that we be returned to Midgard. However, the second the guards touched Jane, the same red blast of energy exploded from within Jane, knocking everyone to the ground. Odin's attention was instantly drawn as he rushed over to Jane and inspected her.

"It's impossible" he mutters, moving his hands across her arms, revealing a crimson glow. It wasn't long before Odin led the three of us throughout the palace, explaining the origin of whatever was inside Jane. It was called the Aether, a relic that appears as a fluid rather than a stoner as the other relics often do. Both Jane and myself had been granted rooms within the palace and clothes to change into. I'd decided to spend whatever time I was here on Asgard investigating Jane's condition and searching for a way to fix it, but everything seemed to come to a dead end, so whilst Jane and Thor had taken some time for themselves, I decided to speak with Odin.

"Your majesty" I bow, respectfully "may I request permission to speak?" Odin nods and I immediately begin talking "i have been researching this Aether, and I cannot seem to find a cure, not one of earth anyway. Is it at all possible that there's another solution to Jane's problem?"

"There is not. Asgard does not have the answers you seek, Lady Katie"

"I mean no disrespect, your majesty, but I am not a lady, I simply own a science company on Earth"

"You do believe that, don't you?" Odin says, and immediately I'm confused "do you remember your mother? Or your father?"

"No, your majesty, they died when I was young"
