"How come you didn't shed a single tear in the past week, I guess?" Sanaya asked, her voice soft as she entered the room, finding Ishita standing silently, fully dressed for her mehendi and sangeet function. Ishita's gaze flickered toward her, but her expression remained distant, as if the cheerful atmosphere around her was something she could no longer connect with.

It was supposed to be a joyful day-her mehendi function in the morning, followed by the sangeet in the evening-but it had only been two weeks since that night in the club. The incident had shaken her deeply, and ever since, she had stopped showing any visible emotion. No tears, no laughter. Nothing.

After two days of that fateful night, Ishita had accompanied her in-laws for wedding shopping, putting on a brave face for them. Yet, everyone close to her senses something different. She had already been quiet, but after returning from that shopping trip, her silence deepened. From that day on, she hadn't shed a single tear, nor did she allow herself to think about him.

Something inside her shifted that day, but no one could quite put their finger on it. Everyone assumed she was becoming more emotional as her wedding date approached, attributing her withdrawal to the overwhelming feelings tied to leaving behind her old life. But only Ishita knew the truth. Beneath her calm exterior, a storm was brewing-a turmoil she couldn't express, a pain she wasn't ready to confront.

As for the Rajawats , they had temporarily shifted to Jaipur for the wedding. The Rajputs insisted that Ishita should get married from their home, which held precious memories of her parents. It was the place where they had once lived and loved, and the Rajputs wanted to honor those memories by having the wedding there.

Every member of the Rajawat family had come to Jaipur for the occasion. Even Rudraveer, with his commanding presence, had personally come to take the Rajputs out shopping with them. The families met, exchanged pleasantries, and shared warm moments. But despite all that, fate had kept Ishita and Rudraveer from crossing paths. She hadn't been able to see him, though perhaps, given her emotional state, it was for the best.

Sanaya, watching her friend, could only wonder what lay behind Ishita's silence.

Sanaya, watching her friend closely, could only wonder what lay behind Ishita's silence.

"Nothing, just got some reality check!" Ishita forced a smile, her tone light, but the emptiness in her eyes told a different story. Sanaya could see right through her-this wasn't the same cheerful and vibrant girl she had known for years. Ishita, once full of life, now seemed so dull, her spark was gone.

Sanaya regretted it every single day-regretted not being there when Ishita needed her the most, not asking enough about her boyfriend. She hadn't even known what the guy looked like. When they had been in a relationship, Sanaya was back in her hometown, caring for her sick parents, and by the time she returned, the relationship had already taken its toll on Ishita. They never had a chance to meet face-to-face, but every day, Ishita would call Sanaya, singing praises of her so-called boyfriend. The man who, by all accounts, had left her in this shattered state.
