I woke up feeling a weird burning sensation on my skin. Slowly, I opened my eyes, but the sunlight streaming through the window was way too bright. I blinked a few times, trying to adjust. My whole body ached, and I remembered falling asleep sitting up... so how did I end up in bed? The fights from last night came rushing back to me. All those arguments... they made me feel even worse. He must have-

I looked around the room, hoping to see him, but he wasn't there . Today is my first day at my sasural, and even though I felt sad and tired, I knew I had to get ready. I headed downstairs, trying to push away the heavy thoughts from last night, hoping the day would get better.

I went to the closet and pulled out my saree and jewelry for the day. As a newly wedded bride, I had to wear something heavy and traditional. The saree was bright and the jewelry sparkled, but my heart wasn't in it. After setting everything down, I headed to the bathroom to take a shower, hoping the cold water would help clear my mind from all the memories of last night.

I wore a beautiful orange and gold saree, the fabric felt heavy on my shoulders, reminding me of the weight of the new responsibilities that came with it. I fastened the necklace with green stones and looked at myself in the mirror, feeling the coolness of the gold against my skin. The bangles jingled softly on my wrists as I adjusted my saree, each piece of jewelry making me look the part, even if inside I wasn't sure how to feel.

Just as I was about to take the sindoor to fill my maang, the door opened, and there he was. He wore an off-white kurta set with an orange embroidered vest coat that matched my saree perfectly.
