Fun Fact: Zebras have sophisticated communication skills
Back with Marty, the zebra was in the middle of doing armpits in front of some kids. "Yeah! You ain't gonna see that on Animal Planet!" He laughed.
The children were hauled away by their parents as the kids copied the armpit farts. "Well, show's over, folks! Thanks for coming. I hope you thought it was fresh. I'll be here all week." Marty takes a drink. "In fact, I'll be here for my whole life. 365 days a year, including Christmas, Hanukkah, Halloween, Kwanzaa. Please don't forget to never spay or neuter your pets."
He sips on a beverage. "And tip your cabby, 'cause he's broke." He trailed off, looking forlorn. He thought about his conversation with Alice earlier, As much as he loves the zoo. He wants...more.
You know, life outside the zoo walls. He didn't want to be cooped up here his whole life. His train of thoughts were cut short when he hears the sound of digging. He looks to see a spoon digging through the grass. The penguins from earlier soon popped up.
"You, quadruped. Sprechen sie English?" Skipper asked, pointing at the zebra, Marty looked and answered, "I sprechen."
"What continent is this?"
Marty just looked at them blankly before answering. "Manhattan."
Skipper looked at the other four in disappointment. "Hover Dam! We're still in New York! Aboard! Dive! Dive! Dive!" Skipper tapped each penguin on the head and dived down into the hole.
Marty looked down the hole in shock. "Hey, hey! Wait a minute!" The penguins popped back up. "What are you guys doing?"
"We're digging to Antarctica!" Private answered.
Skipper slapped him. Private rubbed his cheek sadly. The zebra looked at the flightless birds, confused.
"Anta-who-tica?"
Skipper looked around before gazing up at Marty. "Can you keep a secret stripes?" Marty looks around making sure nobody's around before nodding his head.
"Do you ever see any penguins running around in New York City?"
Marty shook his head no.
"Exactly! We don't belong here! It's just not natural! This is all just some whacked out conspiracy. That's why me and the boys are heading to Antarctica; to the wild!" all the penguins began slapping flippers with each other.
Marty looked surprised and his eyes widened. "The wild! You can actually go there? That's sounds great!" He smiled excitedly, this was it. This is what he's been missing. He needs to get back into his roots of nature.
He looked down to see the penguins were gone.
"Hey wait a minute, Where is this place?" Marty pokes his muzzle down into the hole. "Tell me where it is!"
Skipper popped up again, alone and waved his flippers over his eyes. "You didn't see anything! Right?" He asked.
"Yes sir! Uh...well I mean, no sir!" Marty said sheepishly.
Skipper saluted the zebra before diving back into the hole.
