'No one could save me but you'

Chapter 27:

(Dylan's POV)

Arriving at the island, the hole way there Julia was talking to that man from the airport about the coven in Sydney. I was in my own little world constantly checking my phone in case she had woken up and either Mom or Dad had messaged me that she had. But she hadn't. We started walking in a well built and modern house hidden in the tree's over looking the sea. I practically ran inside the house to get this over and done with. The main reception was small but with Julia following shortly behind with what i think his name was Paul.

"Dylan go straight ahead and then turn right into the second office." she said as i followed her instructions. I walked straight into the office without knocking going straight into business. The room was big, bigger than you would expect from the outside, and i found three men standing discussing something. Dressed in suits with deceiving everyone by looking like they were in their mid twenties. They turned around facing the loud noise i was creating when i entered and one man in particular smiled at me recognizing me.

"Gentlemen leave us" He said smiling still facing me. They nodded in response and left in silence not before gazing on me up and down with disappointment. I knew all those man, especially the man i was left with.

"Young Dylan" He said walking towards me. He had changed since the last time i saw him, I'm guessing becoming the Elder of the immortals has really given him a power boost.

"Not so young" i said as Julia came in. I turned to face her and watched as all her confidence and attitude suddenly changed as she became inferior towards him. I don't think I've ever seen her look so weak before by someone.

"Grandfather" she said nodding to him.

"Julia, I didn't know i was getting this unexpected visit from both grandchildren. What happened to phone calls? i remember them being so popular back in the day" he said practically looking at me towards the end. I knew he didn't want to see me and to be honest with myself, He was the last person i wanted to see.

"Surprise Thomas" i said sarcastically. He looked at me like he was looking into my soul, like he was looking for insurance of his safety, I think that is why he kept a sensible distance between us.

"So how come the sudden visit Dylan? You never visit. Unless you want to make a negotiation" he said walking back towards his desk. Julia joined me as we closer to him. We watched as he sat back in his seat moving papers into his desk or to the side. We sat on the seats in front of his desk as i explained.

"We would like to Register a new member into my family" I said as he sat back. He looked intimidating and i could tell he had this affect on my sister but maybe this is why we never got along, i never took any of his act.

"And who may this be? Your beloved one?" he asked.

"Why ask when you already know the answer" I said. I put my hand to my chin and rubbed it to show i meant business. I could tell he knew that this was the only reason i was here, this is when i noticed him relax a little.

"Ella is it? 22, 5 foot 7, dainty little thing" he said reading off a piece of paper he picked from his pile. I looked at him with a blank expression to hide the fact that if he wasn't immortal, i wouldn't hesitate to kill him. I know that he is family but he never really was in my case. Why did he have a sheet about her?

"That's her" i said coughing out. He read for a moment looking over the paper before sighing and putting it down.

"Did 'it' do it?" he asked. I knew that he set 'it'  after us if we didn't separate but i didn't know that was his arterial motive.

"No actually, a jealous ex of her's. You might have heard of him actually, he's part of the Dakota clan." i explained. I saw by his face some discomfort from mentioning them.

"Was i right to here that they stirred up quite a mess in Ohio exposing themselves" I mentioned giving me leverage. He looked like this had been an issue that keeps on getting brought up and i could also tell he didn't want to talk anymore about it.

"Where are you going with this?" he asked directly.

"I want him out" I said bluntly. He looked surprised by my request.

"May i ask why?" he asked

"It's private business" i replied

"It will become my business if i accept" he said shortly after

"He is trouble, not just to me but to the community" I explained not giving too much away. Over the years of knowing him, I learn't that the more information that he know's about a person, the more he can use against them. It took him a moment for him to come up with an answer, he sat there staring right through me thinking it over before coming with a conclusion.

"I am happy to oblige with registering this woman and arrange your other offer to be resolved" he said smiling.

"What's the catch?" i asked knowing the man too well.

"You join us at the implantation in D.C in a months time" he stated only talking business. I looked over at Julia who seemed to know what he was talking about and smirked a little before hiding her face away from me.

"And how will this interest me?" I asked trying to see how i could benefit out of this.

"Maybe eternal safety for this woman from the other beings of supernatural out there" he said. I dreaded what he said because this meant he knew my weakness, my strongest weakness ... her. I looked into his eyes to see if he was lying but i couldn't see anything to indicate otherwise. I stood up as did he and Julia and i offered him my hand.

"Deal" i said as he shook my hand.
