A'ishah's POV
Ever since her mom discovered her father’s betrayal, their once happy, and perfect family took a turn.
“But I wanna be with Dad.” She cried while hugging herself in the corner of her room.
“A’ishah?” Her mom knocked on her door. “Honey, I know this is not easy. But you to tell you honestly this is harder for mom to see our family shattered but we must leave, anak. Our plane is boarding in 3 hours. You should be done packing your things by now.”
With a heavy heart, A’ishah obeyed and started to pack her things. She decided not to bring everything because she is certain that she will come back here, with a rebuilt happier family.
“Meow.” her black cat scratches her shoe, trying to get her attention.
“I’m sorry, ling. As much as I want to, but I can’t bring you.” She knelt in front of the cat, another tear rolled down her cheek.
Lingling is her cat. And as cliché as it sounds, the cat seems to understand her. They understand each other.
Lingling has seen her cry, rolled up on the corner of her room everytime her parents are shouting, arguing endlessly outside her door. Which is why the cat holds a significant place in her heart. Its her best friend, a companion.
When she needed a hand, lingling’s paws got her.
But sadly, she couldn't bring the cat because everything happened so fast. They don’t even have time to pack their things up. Everything is so sudden, and she isn’t ready at all.
Kailangan na ring magbago ang lahat ng plano niya sa buhay.
She can never attend her dream university anymore kasi they’re leaving na.
Instead, she’s attending a different university in the Philippines, bagong mga kaibigan, at ang adjustment sa bagong kultura.
But out of all this, one thing that breaks her heart harder is facing a new life without her dad by her side.
A man who promised to love and take care of both her and her mother. He is instead protecting another woman against them like as if they are the antagonists in their sinful relationship.
But as a Daddy’s girl she is, she still wants to be with her dad.
The only thing that’s holding her back is her love for mother. She loves her dad but he’s at fault and what he did is unforgiveable. The man who swore to protect her is the same man who broke her heart.
Therefore, as an only child, she chose to protect her mother.
“A’ishah, hurry up!” Her mom shouted.
"Coming, mom!" She shouted back.
Before leaving, she planted a soft kiss on lingling's head.
"Be good, okay? I'll be back, and I'll bring you to the Philippines with me. I promise." A tear fell on top of the cat's head.
