A’ishah's POV

The encounter with Denise and her father left me shaken. It was clear na may feelings pa si Denise kay Maxi, and her father was clearly trying to take advantage of the situation. I felt a surge of protectiveness towards Maxine, a fierce determination to shield her from any harm.

As we left the building, Maxine's hand stayed firmly on my waist, her grip reassuring. "Are you okay?" She asked, her voice laced with concern.

I nodded, my heart still pounding. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just a little shaken."

She squeezed my hand reassuringly. "It's okay. I'm here, and I'm not letting anyone hurt you.”

Parang kumalma ako sa mga sinabi niya. Alam kong totoo 'yun.

We got into her car, and she started the engine. "Where do you want to go?" She asked, her voice softer now.

I thought for a moment. "I'm hungry. How about we go to that new Italian restaurant downtown? The one with the rooftop view?"

Maxine smiled. "Sounds perfect. I'm starving too."

The drive was quiet, both of us lost in our thoughts. I couldn't help but think about the encounter with Denise and her father. Naramdaman ko lang na parang ang weird ng papa niya. He was trying to kiss my hand, and he even offered to take me out. Weird.

When we arrived at the restaurant, the valet took her car. Pagpasok namin, the atmosphere was buzzing with energy. The restaurant was elegant, with dim lighting and soft music playing in the background.

Date ba ‘to?

We were seated at a table with a stunning view of the city lights. As we looked over the menu, Maxine leaned in, her voice a low whisper. "I'm so glad you came with me today. It meant the world to me."

My heart melted. "Of course I came with you. I'm always here for you, babi."

Maxine's eyes softened. "I know, and I love you for that." Love. She loves me for real huh?

I'm sorry, it still feels surreal. Like, totoo ba ‘to? Ganitong level na ba talaga yung relationship namin ni Maxi?

Yes, wala pa kaming label. Hindi pa officially kami. But we know that we like each other. Heck! She's even so vocal about her love for me. It kinda amazes me but at the same time, it somehow scares me.

We spent the next few hours enjoying a delicious meal and each other's company. The tension from the meeting had been replaced by a sense of peace and contentment.

“Can you take a photo of me? I'll post it on insta.” I asked excitedly. The city lights from the restaurant look so beautiful. It's hard not to take a photo with it.

Maxine grinned, her excitement matching mine. “Of course! Let’s capture this moment.”

I posed, leaning slightly against the railing to get the city skyline in the background. As she snapped the picture, I felt a rush of happiness. This was our moment, a memory I wanted to hold onto.

“Let’s see!” I said, peering at her phone as she reviewed the photo. “Perfect! I love it!”

Maxine smiled, her gaze lingering on me. “You look stunning, A’ishah.”

“Thanks! But it’s the view that’s really doing all the work.” I laughed, feeling a warm blush creep up my cheeks.

“Nonsense.” She smirked, looking so proud that she's with me right now.

I posted the photo on my IG with just a black heart emoji as a caption. I also did not include the place.

Nagulat pa ako kasi kaka-post ko lang ang dami na kaagad likes and comments. Of course, hindi mawawala yung comments ng friends namin.
