Aegon wasn't dead. Helaena knew it when she woke but Scott wasn't beside her. She moved to the door and found him smug as ever at her door
"Morning my queen. Sleep well?" Scott asked innocently
"Best night of my life." Helaena agreed a blush creeping back up her cheeks.
"Any reason in particular?" Scott mused leaning against the doorframe
"You didn't do your job ser Scott..."
"Wha-"
"A man entered my room last night." She reminded him.
"Oh my... a handsome man did." Scott agreed.
"You are going to need to stay inside my room from now on. Can't have men coming and going without my permission. The going part was unacceptable." She clarified
"Apologies my queen." Scott agreed.
"Dont let that happen again."
"The going?"
"The going. I liked the coming part." Helaena assured. There was that smug smile again.
"Yeah you did- sorry that was cheeky."
"Its what i like about you." Helaena assured kissing his cheek.
"Behold! The traitor dragon Meleys! Slain at Rook's Rest by your king! To Aegon!"
"It can't be..." the people murmured
"They killed a dragon!" it was unspeakable.
"Whats going on?" Scott questioned "oh God. Thats a dead dragon. I didnt know they could be killed."
"Its very hard from what i have read." Larys answered.
"The people will think this is a black omen." Scott realized.
"The people will think many things." Larys offered. "But what they think will mean little to the prince."
"The queen cares." Scott countered
That dragon had flown over the city hundreds of times everyone had thought of it as a God and now it was killed, and if you can kill dragon, anything can be killed. There are no gods there are no kings. They aren't greater than the small folk. Meleys was dead it should've been a victory, but it wasn't
"Rhaenyra will answer this. 'Tis an abomination."
"Don't they realize we won the battle?" Criston questioned.
"Strange victory..." Gwayne countered. "if it was one."
"Behold! The traitor dragon Meleys!"
"Slain at Rook's Rest by your king!"
Helaena stood beside her mother and brother as scott made his way towards her with little jaehaera at his side. She held his hand as they walked.
Alicent noticed aemond had aegons blade on his belt and noticed the extra cart wheeled behind meleys and understood. Aegon. Alicent rushed off but aemond didnt move. Helaena already knew his fate.
"He will live." Helaena answered.
"Did you want to see him?" Scott questioned.
"No point." Helaena corrected. "He won't be awake for days. Weeks even. "
"What happened?"
"Dragons happened." Helaena answered before looking him in the eyes, scott saw a darkness in her violet gaze. "Aemond happened."
"Aemond happened?" He echoed
"He has always wanted to be in charge. He burned him. Sent him falling in a flaming inferno."
"What?" Scott spewed his morning coffee.
"Last night was fun."
"Your brother -husband is lying almost dead down the west wing and you want to ignore it and talk about last night? Yeah. Okay. Sounds good to me." Scott agreed putting his cup down.

"What are you drawing, sweetie?" Helaena asked, Jaehaera showed her the picture. "Wow. Is that a queen and her princess?"
"Mermaid princess." Jaehaera corrected.
"Oh, yeah, of course. I can see her little tail right there." Scott agreed. "And who is this?"
" The prince." Jaehaera answered, it didn't look like her brothers it looked like Scott. Dark hair and a big stick figure smile. "He's gonna fight anyone who tries to hurt them."
"Well, it's beautiful." Helaena agreed
"But why do they need a prince to fight for them?" Scott countered. "How about the queen and the mermaid princess -" he grabbed a piece of colored charcoal and started adding a sword to the picture. "-learn to fight for themselves?"
"But they don't know how." Jaehaera countered
"Well, not yet." Scott agreed. "But maybe they can learn. Together. How does that sound?"
"Could the prince teach them?" Jaehaera questioned.
"The prince tried very hard to teach the queen but she wasn't a good listener." Scott mused looking to helaena. "She was easily distracted."
"By the prince." Jaehaera agreed.
"She gets it."
"I miss Jae sometimes." Jaehaera whispered.
"It's okay, sweetie. Life dealt us a bad hand. But we can change that. 'Cause we're fighters now." Helaena assured smiling back at Scott.
"Until we learn how, this magic jewel will protect you." Jaehaera corrected holding up a rock she had painted on.
"You're a pretty amazing little girl." Scott decided.
"And Mommy loves you so much." Helaena added.
"and the prince?" Jaehaera looked to Scott.
"I'm just a knight but I will gladly be your prince, my little princess." Scott answered.
"You love me too right?" Jaehaera questioned.
"Thats a silly question," Scott took a knee before her. "Of course I love you."
