"I don't want to be a prisoner". Helaena whispered

"You wont be. Think of me like a fly on the wall". Scott had assured. She was grateful for him, for his compassion. His eagerness to help her, to let her grieve, he didnt push her to do something she wasnt ready for.

Scott was dancing to the music in his own head as he headed to the kitchens. He always wanted a family and Jaehaera had always wanted a father it seemed. She held to Scotts hand as they walked, she smiled laughing up at him.

"What?" Scott questioned giving her hand a squeeze.

"You are so silly mr Scott." Jaehaera said. Scott nodded continuing to sway his hips and shoulders as they went.

"You are silly, why arent you dancing?"

"I dont hear music, mr scott." Jaehaera corrected.

"It's in my head, here," he drew an invisible string from his ear to hers. "Bee-  boop- bee!" jaehaera only laughed harder. 'Can you hear it yet?"

"NO!" She laughed back. Helaena smiled when she saw them returning with a basket of food and smiles on their faces.

"How about now?"

"No?" Scott hummed a tune.

"It goes like that. Listen harder, you are not listening." Scott informed her.

"I can't hear it!" Jaehaera insisted.

"Your music maker must be broken." Scott decided.

"Oh no!" Jaehaera turned to Helaena.

"Mama my music makers broken!"

"Oh?" Helaena looked between them.

"Any trouble while I was away?" Scott questioned pretending to scan the empty room.

"Trouble free." Helaena assured.

"Good. Now onto more pressing issues. THe princess," Scott sighed heavily. "Doesnt hear the music."

"Do you mama?" Jaehaera questioned. "WAIT!" she turned to scott. "Do the thing."

Scott drew that invisible string from his ear to helaena's tucking her hair behind her ear as he did so.

"Do the sound effects." Jaehaera whispered.

"Oh right, sill my." Scott agreed. "Bee- boop- bee!" Helaena chuckled. "Can you hear it?"

"Dance with me and I might." Helaena agreed.

Scott pulled her to him and they swayed.

"You hear it mommy?" Jaehaera questioned.

"I hear it." Helaena agreed looking into Scotts eyes. Her mother was right, he had kind eyes that made her turn into a puddle of goo when she smiled at her like that.

"What have you done?" Otto demanded. "The ratcatchers!"

"Oh... I had them hanged." Aegon answered. "The maggot who took my son confessed to an accomplice. He could not say for certain which man it was, so..."

" Idiot!"

"Beware how you speak to your king, my lord." Criston countered.

"The king is my grandson and my grandson is a fool!" Otto corrected. "He's worse than a fool! He's murdered innocent men!"

"And one guilty one." Aegon added.

"And hanged them from the walls of the city for all to see!" Otto shouted.
