"Oh no, oh no, honey, come home quickly, Dad, he... just come home quickly."

Tao Jiajin couldn't shake his wife's anxious voice from his mind, making his heart race with worry.

He hurriedly drove home, the unfinished sentence she left hanging in his mind.

When he got home, the living room was empty, not a soul in sight. Just as he was about to head to his room, Yan Keyu came forward, her eyes red and misty.

"What happened? What's wrong with Dad?" His heart sank, a bad feeling creeping in.

"Dad, he..." She sniffed, lowered her head, and said hoarsely, "You should go see for yourself."

His expression hardened, and he rushed up the stairs to his father's bedroom.

Opening the door, he saw his father lying on the bed with his eyes closed, completely still.

"Dad..." Tao Jiajin called softly from the doorway.

"You should go to him now, or it might be too late," Yan Keyu followed closely behind.

"What happened? Wasn't he fine this morning?" he asked, agitated.

"It's probably because of his age; it's easy to have a stroke or heart attack." She discreetly made an 'X' sign behind her back.

"Impossible." He shook his head, anxiously rushing to his father's bedside, scanning him from head to toe, "You have to wake up. I haven't asked you why you don't love me, why you're always so harsh and cold to me? Wake up."

"Honey..." Yan Keyu moved to comfort her husband, just as she blocked the view between him and his father-in-law. "Don't get too worked up..."

Hearing her voice, Tao Xiongshan confusedly opened his eyes, only to meet Yan Keyu's glance signaling him to stay quiet.

A look of surprise flashed in his eyes, and he quietly closed them again.

Tao Jiajin shouted in distress, "How can I not be worked up? My dad is lying here motionless..."

"Honey, say what you need to say now. I believe Dad can hear you," Yan Keyu placed her hand on his shoulder.

"I... I'm an unfilial son, doing so many rebellious things against my father, but it was all just to get his attention. I wish he could love me more, care about me more, not just focus on my brother, only love him," he choked out.

"I understand, I understand, keep going, keep going," Yan Keyu patted her husband's shoulder in encouragement.

"I really love him." Tao Jiajin couldn't hold back his tears any longer, crying out passionately, "Dad, I love you."

"Good, now that you've said it, everything's fine." She smiled with satisfaction.

"Where's Mom? The doctor? I don't believe Dad's in trouble; I want to take him to the hospital." Tao Jiajin tried to calm down, regaining some composure, his eyes red.

"Mom went shopping, and sister-in-law went back to her family today," she replied casually.

"How can they still have the heart to go out at a time like this? Get them back here," he shouted angrily, also displeased with his wife's smiling face, "And no matter how bad Dad and Mom treat you, you shouldn't be smiling now, right?"

"Okay, okay, sorry, but I really want to be happy," she said, her smile widening.

"Honey!" Tao Jiajin growled unhappily, "Do you wish for Dad to never wake up? I never knew you were this kind of woman."
