7. Not-that-obedient

' Congratulations, Ms. Elijah Graves. Congratulations on your wedding. I thought you'd be single for the rest of your life.  '

Sage and Elijah both were drunk. There's loud music, people were dancing on the club stage. Elijah swallowed her shot and shrugged ' Damn wedding. Thought, will be single forever. But who knew Helen would force. '

Elijah's facial expression was beyond imagination. It's like she's still irritated on the fact that she's getting married. Sage looked at her and gently patted her back, saying ' Then tell her you don't want this marriage to be happen. Reject the idea of getting married and inform this to your would be fiance. '

' Huh, tried but he is smart. He behaved like he did not get my hints. '
' Then what about Helen ? You said she would not force you. Then you can just tell her that you don't want this marriage. '

Sage tried suggesting alternatives. But it was like there was no choice for Elijah to stop this wedding.  She has to agree on this marriage otherwise the consequences might be worst. She sighed and said  ' Cannot. Am still here because of Evan. Do not want to snatch her only happiness. '

Sage didn't say anything. What could he say ? It's not that this marriage problem is his problem. He cannot possibly just interfere in the matter of Drake's and Graves. Elijah will not like it. She's the type of person who likes to solve her problem herself. She doesn't like it when other people interfare in her matter. He's Elijah's best friend and he's still in a good place than those whome she wouldn't even spare a look.

At 10.30 pm,

' Lij, we're in Drakewood. Did you hear me ? Get the fuck out of my damn car. '

Sage patiently looked at Elijah, waiting for her to wake up. Elijah isn't drunk at all yet he insisted to drive her off to her house. However who would have imagined Elijah would torment him to death. He was getting impatient and in that moment, Elijah opened her sleepy eyes and looked around. They're already in Drakewood. She got up, sat in a straight manner, checked her jeans pocket as she got out of the car.  Huh, there's her phone. After checking through everything, she looked at her wrist watch, it's 10.40 now and she has to go home. So she waited for Sage to leave and then she went to the way of Manor. 

Elijah heard the familiar sound of laughter coming from the dining area of the 1st floor. She had came to meet with Helen and Nathan but she was stunned at the scene of Evan having dinner with everyone. Elijah's auntie Rowena, Isabelle and Gabriel were there. Fiona, Elliot, Samuel, Alex were also there. Elijah's second uncle, Dominic was sitting there with a sour look on his face as he ate the dinner. It looks like they all are having feast.

Elijah's face immediately turned dark. Did not like it, she obviously did not like it. She obviously do not like it when Evan tries to associate with Helen's family. It's different about Rowena, Adrian and Xavier. But she definitely should not cross path with Dominic and his family. They're gentlemen in a disguise. A living monster.

Evan was laughing at some joke which Gabriel told them. It was after a long time that she could feel this familiar warmness again. Otherwise it's always lonely as she always stay at 3rd floor, don't have the permission of leaving. She was feeling all good, it's good to have dinner with everyone once in a while. And Drakewood Manor is more chaotic now that Rowena has returned. Evan was happy, meaning genuinely happy. 

' Evan '

Evan was chewing on carrots that's when she heard familiar female voice. Her face immediately turned pale. How's that possible ? She knew that Elijah won't return any time sooner today. Then how could she be here ? She looked behind and immediately she knew that she shouldn't have gone against of Elijah. The ever indifferent Elijah was now different. Her face was filled of emotion. Evan couldn't comprehend what that emotion was but she was sure of one thing, this night is going to take very long.
