12. Sedatives

Elijah could not sleep. She is too used to of her irregular sleeping routine, 1 pm or 3 pm or maybe even more late. And her condition is not that good to follow her so called routine. At the end, Dr. Paul had to give her sedative to forcefully put her in sleep.

Although Elijah is physically weak but her mental barrier is much more stronger than what Dr. Paul had expected. Even after taking medium dose, she did not sleep at all.  Just when she was given high dose, she was forced to sleep in few minutes. Rhys and doctor, both were shocked. Paul stated it might be that Elijah used to take sedatives to sleep otherwise no one can keep up with sedatives till it's the high dose. Even after taking high dose, her nerves were still stubborn to not sleep. Is it that she does not want to sleep ? Why her nerves were so adamant even when she has taken sedatives ?

Dr. Paul could not blindly state anything until she get the chance to talk with Elijah.  Elijah's situation is psychological and there are various types of human psychological disorders. One cannot say anything blindly unless they're sure. So they have to wait till Elijah's condition is stable enough to talk about her.

Rhys had requested doctor to inform Elijah's family that she have to stay in hospital for more thoroughly check up. At the end, Drake's had to leave as they all could not possibly stay, occupying the entire hospital. After they left, Rhys breathed of relief.

It was more hard for him to bear Dominic's family than to listen Elijah's short speeches. Dominic's wife, Fiona, is an extreme wicked woman. She can do anything. If she had stayed here, she might have angered Elijah to death. After all, Elijah is quiet sensitive now. She cannot be around of these wicked people. It's like rubbing salt on wound.

Everybody from Drake's has left, but Alex and Evan doesn't intend to leave. Evan as usual supposed to stay with Elijah as she always cared for her. Elijah might be concerned for others, but she is too blind to care for herself. At theend, Evan had to look after her. But it was not same for Alex. Alex was not in need to stay with Elijah. It might seem rude, but the truth is that Elijah and Alex, this pair of siblings are always at each others throat. They can never be pretentious enough to care for each other.

So when Alex declared that he's going to stay at hospital with Elijah, everybody's face tensed up.  It's not usual for Alex to be around Elijah. Then what's the matter ? Why he insisted to stay ? Alex didn't say anything and Drake's had to leave without getting any possible reason of him to stay at hospital.

Family members were not allowed to stay with patients, so Evan and Alex could only spend their night at hospital corridor. The two, gracefully settle down in the hospital corridor as they leaned on the metallic chair. Just like Elijah, Alex was not in good terms with Evan either. But unlike of Elijah, Evan do not directly express her dissatisfaction. Rather, she would stay calm and try to digest his not-so-decent behavior. 

' I'll come back in a while. ' After resting for a while, Alex stood up and said to Evan. Evan was leaning on the chair with her eyes closed. She heard him but didn't bother to reply. Alex didn't say anything either as he proceeded to the way to Elijah's cabin. It's time to see the person for whome he insisted to stay here.

Elijah was in a deep slumber so she didn't hear the sound of door. Alex quietly entered the cabin and sat at the stool beside her bed. This time Elijah was looking all different than the other time. Her face was pale, lips were dry and her dark raven blue hair was messy and scattered all around.

Alex took a good look at Elijah. The outfit she wore before was still on her. Isn't wearing the clothes provided by hospital a decorum of every hospital ? Then why she's wearing the same clothes as before ? Alex looked at her sleeping face and felt it's a bit suspicious. He didn't know what is it but he always felt something was wrong with Elijah's clothing style.

Elijah always wear full sleeve loose clothes even in summer and this type of dressing will not help you to get access over her body. Then how could the doctor give her sedative without lifting her sleeves or changing her dress ? If she was not given sedatives then she wouldn't have slept so deeply cause she is definite not a heavy sleeper. In fact she'll woke up even if you breath ten meters away. However from the moment he entered the cabin to till sitting beside her, she didn't react to his presence at all. It is not possible if she's conscious. So it's true to say that doctor gave her sedatives.  Then why not change her clothes  ?

Alex doesn't know if it's just because Elijah doesn't want her body to get exposed or there's something really wrong with her, however he didn't dare to get too close to her. His and Elijah's relation is like a broken glass. You can try to fix it but the tresses of breakage will not never fade. Everybody thinks he's ignorant towards Elijah and don't care for her. But the truth is that, he has long lost the right to care for Elijah, his forever loved elder sister. 

Elijah is like a mother figure to Evan and Alex.  She always cared for them. In the past she used to dote on him a lot. And because of her devotional nature, she's naturally possessive for them. She thought just because they're her siblings, they only belonged to her and she's the only person they could ever love. But her this type of mentality and Alexs extrovert mannerism pushed them to the end and forced them to be apart.

Elijah is the type of person who'll love unconditionally if she like anyone. To think that they're her own siblings, she wanted to own them, she wanted them to be only belonged by her.
Although Evan could handle her obsession, however Alex was not a least bit happy for this. He didn't try to understand her and never tried to convince her.

Alex was all frustrated over Elijah's obsession.  And he was more focused on developing close relationship with Elliott and Samuel cause they are men and Elijah is a woman. So what if she's his real sister ? He didn't like the idea of following her. He doesn't want to be called coward just because he had to follow his elder sister. It would be better if he could follow Eliott rather than following Elijah.  And that's what Elijah hated the most, her people going further and further away from her. At the end Alex moved out of Elijah's place and started living at Helens.

Moving out of his own home and started living with his cousin brothers is the worst decision Alex had ever taken. It has destroyed the warmth in his and Elijah's relation. Although Elijah is very devoted to her loved ones, but she is also cruel and heartless when it's the people who distegarded her or left her.

Elijah would never blink when uttering the harshest words to the person she hates in a calm manner. She'll not care for the person or care for his state of mind. She'll simply hate him with all her guts. And it's evident that she obviously hate Alex cause she always chose to ignore him though she meets him everyday. It's Alexs' utter loss that Elijah stopped caring for him from the day 5 years ago.

Elijah is a self conscious person and her obsession over her ego was quiet a big problem before. Although she has already overcame the problem but it's only with Drake's.  To others, she's still arrogant. Even when she's all obsesse over Alex and Evan,  she never pleaded for him to stay and that's what Alex hated about her. Is her self respect that precious than her own brother ? It might be that if she had requested him, he would've reconsider the decision of moving out. He would've let go of all her wrong doings and wouldn't left her all alone.

Alex hated and regretted Elijah at the same time. He hated that she was still ignorant when he was leaving.  And he regretted that he betrayed Elijah who loved him so dearly, for the people who were hyena in a disguise of a human. He feels regret that he disrespected her and didn't leave any choice to go back to her. At the end, he was always like that, all arrogant like her but also very unlike of her.
