After another chaotic school day for Marcus, he and Mikhail's friend, Nicholas Kang, were outside on a bench near the gunshop.
"They're fine... though their ways of having fun almost make me get in trouble..." Marcus responded.
"I don't doubt it one bit," Nick said, puffing a cigar.

"How's unc?" Marcus asked.
"Mikhail? Well, the dude's recovering mentally, and so is May," Nick responded.
"Did... Rally's death hit you hard too?" Marcus asked.
"I'll admit, it hit me like a car, but I knew she'd be avenged one way or another," Nick said, puffing his cigar again.
"You knew I'd go after her?" Marcus asked.
"I had assumed Mikhail would, but when I heard you took Ellis down, I was surprised yet impressed by your balls. You got them in a premium package kid," Nick replied, lightly punching Marcus' shoulder.
"Thanks..." Marcus said.

Nick and Marcus turned to see Roy Collins, his exhausted expression shown on his face.
"Chief..." Marcus said.
"Well if it ain't Collins," Nick said, "You look like shit."
"Looks like you got eyes," Roy responded, "Good, because I've got a little job for you both."

'I can't tell if God's call or not...' Marcus thought as they stood up.
"Crime's making a rise again with the death of Vincent," Roy explained as he set a couple of case files down.
"With Vincent around, no criminal was safe. She was like a force of nature that kept criminal activity at an all-time low... but since she passed... the criminal underworld is making a return."
