It wasn't for show

As I took this journey, my heart opened wide,
I started to see your true beauty, a shining light.
Why can't I have you?  A question that echoes inside,
A yearning so deep, a love that burns so bright.

I can't pluck the stars from the sky for you,
Not even the moon for your crown, a celestial prize.
I'm just a normal guy, a simple soul, it's true,
But I can make your heart satisfied, in my own humble guise.

Looking for that guy, the one with the perfect grace?
Looking for his silhouette, a figure in the mist?
But never have I been seen, though I show my care,
Though I show I care, with every beat of my heart's tryst.

Still longing for rare, a love that's unattainable, it seems,
Loving you was like a rose, beautiful, mesmerizing, yet hurtful, it seems.
Your laugh wasn't fake, a melody that filled the air,
But my love for you was in stake, a gamble I couldn't bear.
