Chapter 3: Flowers, pasts, attack.

Atasi ran into the field and jumped happily seeing all the flowers around her. Blackend followed behind, looking around cautiously for any sign of danger. He began to like his new friend, who was a bundle of joy and energy. "Look at this blue one! Wait, this red one is pretty too!" Atasi smiled happily, watching as Blackend lowered his head to the flowers. "Pretty but, what is this place?" Blackend asked, looking at Atasi with interest.

"This place is called Volcano island! And it has a lot of flowers and is very pretty! If you exclude the big volcano right next to us." Atasi said, collecting flowers with her mouth and dropping them on Blackend's feet. "I wanna cover you in flowers!" She continued. Blackend smiled and looked down at her, "Well I certainly wouldn't mind." He chuckled, nuzzling her gently. Atasi ran happily and jumped as she did, Blackend watching over her, he looked at the water next to Atasi, realizing that she was eating large pink berries from a plant next to it. He raised himself high as he saw bubbles in the water, as if someone was inside. "ATASI LOOK OUT!" He shouted, the Minawii jumping up in horror dropping bits of fruit, looking next to her, a brown snout poked towards her.

Suddenly, a Kendyll bursted from the water.

"RAHHHHHHH I'M GONNA EAT YA!!!" He shouted, waving his claws furiously, the Minawii jumping up and down happily.

She was jumping? At a giant Kendyll that could kill her in one bite? Blackend was very confused.

"I'm kiddin-" The Kendyll stopped talking and felt something stomp on his head, closing his mouth not allowing him to speak. Blackend stepped on him and kept him down, looking down at Atasi. "Do you know this one?" Blackend asked, the Minawii squeaking before beginning to speak, "I do! That's Rocky! My best friend!" Blackend was surprised, she made friends with a Kendyll, who's species tended to be aggressive to all creatures. He got off and looked down at Rocky. "I'm sorry." Blackend apologized, bowing his head down at Rocky who smiled in response. "Oh it's quite alright, your very big. You're a.. Korathos right? I heard you guys were extinct." Rocky said, turning his head up at Blackend before continuing to speak, "You don't need to explain why, but thanks for lookin after my little best friend." Rocky smiled. Blackend nodded, "Her name is Atasi now, I named her." He said, Rocky twisting his head to look at her from behind, "Atasi.. That is a beautiful name." Rocky smiled wider, seeing the?Minawii continuing to pick out flowers. "What happened to her parents? Does she know what happened? Do you?" Blackend questioned, sitting down on the grassy floor with his claws scraping together as he waited and listened for an answer. "She doesn't but I know. Back then 4 years ago her parents were attacked by a creature, a Geogoff. He had no mercy, snapped their necks like twigs. Took the bodies with him too. I knew them, and they left Atasi with me when she was just a baby." Rocky sighed, looking down and scratching his claws on the floor, tapping them. "That's horrible. I knew my mother but I never met my father." Blackend said, warning a interested look from Rocky. "Is your mom still alive?" Rocky questioned, seeing Blackend look down. "No, she was killed. I fled the scene and lived on my own. For a while before I met Vine, but he betrayed me for a reason I will never find out." Blackend outhaled.

Atasi ran over and hugged Blackends foot, not being able to reach him from below. "It's okay best friend!" She squeaked. "Thank you." He smiled, noticing Rocky was hugging him as well. "You smell like you haven't cleaned yourself in a while." Rocky mentioned, Blackends teeth grinding unsure of what to say. "Oh I'm.. Sorry. I didn't know." He said, getting up and stretching. "BATH TIME!" Rocky shouted, Blackend confused by the sudden yell. "What?" He said, getting startled as he noticed Atasi jumping on his foot in excitement. Blackend Tensed up fast, noticing Rocky dragging him by his tails and into the water he was previously inside of. Blackend helped by the sudden feeling of cold water. It wasn't deep, but was enough for him to fit inside of with half of his body still out of the water. Suddenly, Atasi jumped onto Rocky's snout, standing on it as she tossed flowers into the water with Rocky, who was doing that as well. Blackend sniffed and smelled a sweet, calming smell. The flowers some how gave a scent that managed to make him smell better. "Wow..." He said, laying his head on a rock in front of him where he was facing. It went quiet.
