it was cold, not too cold, just cold. he wasn't complaining though, he liked when it was cold. if it was anything but cold then he gets upset, at least that's what others say. he likes to think that he gets unfocused, but even he can't deny that a change in his routine causes caos for him.

having a place where he can just exist is nice a lot of the time, like right now. the grey haired boy was sat in a beanbag, a weighted blanket draped over his shoulders and headphones placed over his head. but the overhead headphones and not the ones that go inside your ears, because he hates the feeling of stuff inside his ears, it irks him in a way that isn't describable.

a knock, it had to be louder than how he heard it because he was playing music, his favourite songs, into his ears. it was muffled by the headphones, but he still heard it so he lifted his head, from the hung-low position it was in, to look at the door as he watched it open.

"Ningie?" the brown haired boy called out. kai didn't speak though, that took too much energy. "oh.. no talking?" the boba-eyed boy asked softly and kai nodded, he watched a look of deep thought take over taehyun's face before he looked back at kai and pointed toward his head.

kai tilted his head to the side, a sign of confusion and lost communication. taehyun breathed out another, smaller, sigh. he moved towards the silently confused boy and tapped on his headphones. kai was sure he made a face since taehyun's features changed to one of joy and fondness.

a soft smile graced both of them, and kai removed his headphones, albeit slowly. "thank you" taehyun said, at a normal tone as he usually did, but kai had flinched and moved to place his headphones back on.

worrying that his younger 'brother' would get an indent from wearing the headphones an excessive amount, taehyun reached his hand out holding onto the headband of the headphones. kai looked up in confusion and taehyun smiled softly, "i don't want an indent in your head, i'm sorry for being loud" he whispered and kai nodded, the softer sound being more appealing to his ears.

"i came to ask if you were hungry, theres ramen in the kitchen if you are" taehyun whispered gently, the small and soft smile still painted on his faces like a high-quality sculpture. kai shook his head, but taehyun knew that he would be hungry later so he made sure there was one more cup of instant ramen in the top cupboard.

"mind if i sat with you? i wont speak, i promise." taehyun whispered, still in that awfully soft tone, his words clear and his intentions vague. kai nodded and made space on the bean bag for his favourite friend.

i really only uploaded this since i needed something to upload, also late happy halloween (to those who celebrated it).
