Lucifer yawned loudly as he walked down the stairs that morning. He hadn't gotten much sleep, probably because the hotel had only quieted down around four in the morning. His sleep-deprived mind struggled to piece together everything that had happened the previous day.

Eve. He remembered seeing her nervous face on the hotel's doorstep. He remembered the flood of emotions, from sadness, to guilt, to fear. However, beneath it all, some small part of him was hoping she would say something to him. Even just to acknowledge that he was there.

He had always felt incompetent around her. She was just so perfect. Lilith was brave and beautiful, but in no world was she perfect. And next to all of Eve's flawlessness, Lucifer found it easy to feel, well, flawed.

To be fair, I am the devil.

The King pushed these thoughts aside as he approached the lobby. He would have time to dwell on his insecurities later. For now, he needed to focus on helping Charlie deal with everything else that was happening. Glancing around, he saw that no one else was awake yet except for him. And Husk.

The cat was slouched over the bar, holding a glass of what Lucifer hoped was water(it was eight in the morning), and looking downright exhausted. "Good morning," Lucifer said warmly, putting on a smile as he sat down at the counter.

Husk simply groaned in response.

"You look like shit," He bluntly told the grouchy bartender. "Did you sleep at all?"

In response, Husk shook his head lightly and drank from his glass. Lucifer got up to make himself coffee. He could summon it himself with his magic, but he needed something to do with his hands. "So," He said, reaching for the coffee machine. "Did Adam..." He trailed off, trying to make it look like he couldn't find the sugar, when in reality he was stalling. "...sleep off the alcohol?"

"Yeah," came a gruff response from behind him. "I think so. He's still hungover though, and so are most of the others."

"What about Eve? Is she awake?" Lucifer tried to make himself sound uninterested. He didn't know why it was so hard. It's not like I'm in love with her. I don't think I ever felt that way about Eve. It's just weird that she shows up now, a day after Lilith. Lost in thought, he almost didn't hear Husk's response. "She, uh, went for a walk."

Turning around, Lucifer raised his eyebrows, surprised. "By herself?" Eve is terrified of Hell. She shows up out of nowhere, and now she's just going out and about like this place isn't her worst nightmare? "Should we tell Adam?"

Something dark crossed Husk's face. "Trust me," he said, not meeting Lucifer's curious gaze. "She can handle herself."

Before Lucifer could respond, Adam entered the room with a dramatic moan. He dragged himself over to the bar and practically collapsed into the chair next to Lucifer. He groaned again, pressing his forehead into the table, looking more exhausted than Husk somehow.

"Mornin'" Husk grunted. Adam made a sound that could've been "hello". Lucifer sipped his coffee and watched as the hungover man lifted his head groggily and rested it on the wall beside him. "Can I have a beer?"

Silence. Husk, who seemed completely awake now, scoffed incredulously. "Are you serious? You're more alcohol than human by now."

Adam rolled his eyes tiredly. "It'll help with the hangover, tight-ass."

Husk fiddled with his playing cards, bored. "How do you figure that?"

"You can't get hungover if you never stop drinkiiiing!" Adam sang. The bartender gave him a look and turned around to lock the liquor cabinet. Giving up on him, Adam turned to Lucifer. "Hey, have you seen Eve?"
