The rest of the tour went by in a blur, but things felt different now. There was a quiet understanding between Woozi and Seungcheol, a shared connection that didn’t need to be spoken aloud. It wasn’t something the other members brought up either—they seemed to sense the change, but in typical Seventeen fashion, they let it be, offering support in their own subtle ways.

One night, after a particularly exhausting concert, Woozi found himself sitting on the floor of the hotel room he was sharing with Seungcheol. The other members were already asleep, but Woozi’s mind was too restless to rest just yet.

Seungcheol sat beside him, handing him a bottle of water. “You did great tonight,” he said softly, his voice filled with quiet pride.

Woozi took a sip of the water, nodding. “Thanks.”

They sat in silence for a moment, the quiet hum of the hotel room filling the space between them. But it wasn’t uncomfortable. It was the kind of silence that felt natural, like they didn’t need to fill it with words to understand each other.

“I’ve been working on a new song,” Woozi said after a while, his voice low.

Seungcheol looked at him, curious. “Yeah?”

Woozi nodded, glancing at the notebook he had left open on the coffee table. “It’s… different from what I usually write. Softer. More personal.”

Seungcheol’s eyes softened as he reached for the notebook, flipping through the pages. “Can I see?”

Woozi hesitated for a moment, but then he nodded. “Sure.”

Seungcheol’s eyes scanned the lyrics, his expression thoughtful. The words on the page were raw, filled with the kind of vulnerability that Woozi rarely showed. It was a love song, but not the kind of love song he had written before. This one was quiet, filled with all the unspoken moments, the small gestures, the subtle emotions that were so much harder to put into words.

“It’s beautiful,” Seungcheol said softly, his voice filled with awe. “Is it about…?”

Woozi’s cheeks flushed slightly, and he looked away, embarrassed. “Maybe.”

Seungcheol chuckled, but it wasn’t mocking. It was soft, fond. He reached out, placing a hand on Woozi’s knee, his touch gentle. “I’m honored.”

Woozi huffed, half-amused, half-embarrassed. “Don’t make it weird.”

Seungcheol smiled, leaning closer. “I won’t. But seriously, Jihoon… this is incredible. I can feel every word. It’s… it’s us, isn’t it?”

Woozi hesitated, then nodded slowly. “Yeah. It is.”

Seungcheol’s eyes softened even more, and he gently cupped Woozi’s face in his hand, his thumb brushing against his cheek. “Thank you,” he whispered, his voice filled.

Seungcheol’s thumb brushed against Woozi’s cheek, and the warmth of his touch sent a wave of reassurance through Woozi. It wasn’t just the physical touch that calmed him; it was the sincerity in Seungcheol’s gaze, the quiet understanding that had been there between them for years but had only now been fully acknowledged.

“Thank you,” Seungcheol repeated softly, his voice tender, almost reverent.

Woozi’s heart stuttered at the simple, yet overwhelming, sentiment. “For what?”

“For letting me in. For this,” Seungcheol gestured to the notebook between them, the words of Woozi’s song scrawled across the pages. “It’s not easy for you to open up, I know that. But this—this means more to me than I can put into words.”
