Namjoon replied, his heart swelling with a mix of warmth and determination. He could feel Y/N's presence beside him, a reminder that even in moments of darkness, there was still light to be found.

After a few peaceful minutes, Y/N shifted, looking up at him with a hint of mischief in their eyes. "So, what's next? More rock-skipping championships?"

Namjoon laughed, "How about a picnic? We could grab some snacks from that little shop we love." He pushed himself up, the idea sparking excitement in him.

Y/N's face lit up. "That sounds perfect! Let's do it."

They walked back to Namjoon's bike, and he helped Y/N onto the seat again. This time, the atmosphere felt lighter, the earlier tension replaced with anticipation. As they pedaled toward the café, Namjoon couldn't help but steal glances at Y/N, their smile growing brighter with each passing moment.

At the café, they loaded up on sandwiches, pastries, and a few drinks before heading back to the park. They found a cozy spot under a cherry blossom tree, the petals fluttering down like confetti, adding a touch of magic to the moment.

Sitting cross-legged on the blanket, they unpacked their food, laughter and chatter spilling easily between them. "I'm still convinced I should get extra points for those epic rock skips," Y/N teased, taking a bite of their sandwich.

Namjoon chuckled, leaning back on his hands. "Maybe we can make it a monthly competition? Keep track of scores and everything."

"Now you're talking!" Y/N grinned, their eyes sparkling with enthusiasm. "But I'll need to train hard if I want to beat you."

As they ate, Namjoon noticed how the sunlight danced in Y/N's hair, casting a warm glow around them. It felt like a moment suspended in time, and he found himself wanting to hold onto it forever.

After finishing their meal, Y/N leaned back against the tree trunk, gazing up at the branches swaying gently in the breeze. "You know, I've been thinking about what you said earlier," they began, their tone turning serious again.

Namjoon turned to face them, curious. "About what?"

"About this being just one chapter in my story. It's hard to see it that way sometimes. It feels so big right now, so overwhelming." Y/N sighed, their fingers tracing patterns in the grass.

"I get it," Namjoon replied, shifting closer. "But every story has ups and downs. You're in a valley right now, but there are mountains ahead, too. You'll rise above this, and when you do, you'll be even stronger."

Y/N looked at him, their expression softening. "You always know how to make me feel better."

"It's easy when I care about you," he said softly, his heart racing a little. He paused, considering his words carefully. "You mean a lot to me, Y/N. I want to see you thrive."

Y/N's gaze held his for a moment, a charged silence hanging in the air. Namjoon felt a mix of fear and hope, the unspoken words swirling between them.

"I care about you, too," Y/N finally said, breaking the tension. "You've always been there for me, and I really appreciate that."

Namjoon smiled, the warmth spreading through him. "Always."

Suddenly, Y/N's expression shifted, and they bit their lip. "Hey, can I ask you something?"

"Of course. Anything," he replied, intrigued.

"Do you believe in second chances?" Y/N's voice was tentative, as if they were testing the waters.

Namjoon raised an eyebrow, pondering the question. "In what context?"

"In relationships," Y/N clarified, their eyes searching his. "Like, do you think people can change? Can they make things right after messing up?"

Namjoon considered their words, his heart racing. "I think it depends on the person and the situation. Everyone makes mistakes. It's how they learn and grow that matters. But it has to be genuine. They have to be willing to change."

Y/N nodded, their expression contemplative. "I guess I'm just wondering if Gohyun might ever realize what he lost. If he'd be willing to apologize and make things right."

"Maybe," Namjoon said carefully. "But you have to focus on your own healing first. If he comes back, that's a decision for you to make then."

Y/N sighed, looking back at the branches overhead. "You're right. I can't dwell on the past if I want to move forward."

Namjoon felt a surge of admiration for Y/N's resilience. "Exactly. You deserve someone who will treat you right from the start."

With a soft smile, Y/N turned to him, their gaze lingering. "Thank you for everything, Namjoon. I don't know how I'd get through this without you."

Namjoon felt a flutter of something deeper within him, a connection that had always been there but was now more pronounced. "You're never alone, Y/N. I'll always be by your side."
